Any summer salad recipes???????????



We visited to see Handsomesmiley & his wife last Saturday.

I like their American fruit salad... mmmhhh

I asked them for their recipe.... Very easy recipe...

one large canned mixed fruit
ready small chopped white marshmallows
ready thick whipped cream

It taste good but calories bomb.... :Ohno:



Normally I alway fix fruit salad from fresh fruits like this.

chopped fresh fruits (pineapple, kiwi, stawberry, apple, banana, etc) and put them in the bowl...

add sugar in water and boil... and then leave until they are cold then squeeze lemon juice and add into water mixture... then pour the liquid into fruit bowl... salad... ready...
 
For me, I usually make a salad of strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cantalope, honeydew, pineapple, and whatever else is in season.

but summer salads are not limited to fruits.. I've also made what I call a rice salad.. which was basically rice, corn, chicken, red and green peppers, and red onions. there are a lot of ways to make summer salads.. you're only limited by your imagination.

Yummy - I make these often but use orzo instead - really delicious :)
 
Im really love salad lots because im eat lots of salad so im on diet.

But i do eat salad at restaurant have any types of salad what im eating but my family know i always eat salad lots than nothing.

Mostly people always eat salad lots because who still on diet or not diet but im sure have salad recipe as favorite to making! but i had hard thinking to make salad myself.

So i always getting casear salad and garden salad at wal-mart,krogers same types from restaurant or not same types of restaurant salad.

my family always know what kind types of salad to making its doesnt matter for me to eat
 
Yes fruit salad is so YUMMIE!

Potato salad, Pasta, 3 Beans salad, there are so many!

I love potato salad that I make my own. :)

I am sure you able to find something yummie to eat on hot days!
 
My favorite Fruit...

Green apple and Peel or unpeeled & chopped squares
Golden Raisin
Celery > slices
Very Thick two or three slices turkey from Cold cut at Deli then chopped squares
Fat free sour cream
Lite Mayo
All mix and
sweet any species your favorite to taste
Yummy!!!!!

My Favorite Greek Pasta

Yellow, red or green Pepper with chopped
Black Olive chopped
Red Onion chopped
Feta Cheese
Cooked Bow Pasta then cool

Mix with Greek dressing


My favorite Potato Salad

Red Potato cooked and cool
boiled eggs slices
celery chopped
sweet pickle chopped
Little red vigine
Fat free sour cream
lite Mayo
All Mix and salt & Pepper to taste

My mom went to a Luau at a Center here, and they served

Rice salad with soft cranberries. She said it was so good.

1 cup brown rice wild rice mix
2 1/3 cups water (see package instructions)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon butter

1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped pecans (toasted or un-toasted, your choice)
1/4 cup sliced green onions

1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
Salt and freshly ground pepper

1 Use the amount of water for the rice according to instructions on the rice package. Typically straight brown rice is a 1:2 ratio of rice to water. Straight wild rice is a ratio of 1:3 of wild rice to water. For this brown rice wild rice mix that I got from a bin (no package) I used a ratio of 1 cup of rice to 2 1/3 cups of water. Bring rice, 1/2 teaspoon salt, butter, and water to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 50 minutes. Do not stir. Do not uncover. Remove from stove and let sit, covered for 10 minutes. Then uncover, fluff up with a fork, and let cool to almost room temperature.

2 In a medium sized serving bowl, mix the rice, cranberries, pecans, and green onions together.

3 In a separate jar, mix the lemon juice, olive oil, orange peel, sugar, and salt and pepper to taste. Just before serving, mix dressing in with the rice mixture. Serve warm, chilled, or room temperature.

Serves 4 to 6.
 
my step-sister making their own homemade potato salad im really like her own potato salad its so delicious than any restaurant and i eat this potato salad but im really love this potato salad from my step-sister's receipe.

Yes, they gave us bowl of American fruit salad for go home and I gave him my Bavaria potato salad as exchange.... They loves my Bavaria potato salad... I eat all of fruit salad on next day after drove you to station... :giggle:

ohh yummy... rice salad that my mom use to make is great as well..

cooked white rice
cut up olives (opitional)
red or green peppers (lil)
Catalina salad dressing
I think she puts in green onions (not too sure)

mixed it all up and put in fridge overnight the flavour is GREAT!!!

how about this... this is great as well throw (pineapple, kiwi, strawberry, bannas, peaches and cherries) in a bowl,

then get some peach schnapps (liquor) or kaulua ( i think) mixed it let it sit for awhile ... yummy

Try add bacon to potato salad, it taste so yummmmmy....along with my homemade thick juicy hamburger from the grill. (Always have leftover bacon on the side for the hamburger) Smile!!!
 
sound good but I don't usually eat fruit salad but one day I will give it a try :)

Hey Liebling, I'm glad you loved the fruit salad here in America. ;) I usually put fresh fruits in the salad that comes from a produce store since they sell it from their farms, so and on. It tastes better to me though but you can always use canned fruits as well.

Speaking of Bavaria Potato Salad - I liked eating it when I was younger. My dad's side of the family is mainly germans. So they would basically cook several german foods which is good. I kind of miss eating it since I haven't had one in a while.
