I am currently using a Motorola Razr which cingular said was great for HOH customers...BS!! Its horrible for me!! I am spending 80 dollars a month for 450 mins that I only use 1/3 of. I can't afford 20 dollars of texting either since I live on welfare. I have been hearing about the sidekicks and blackberries.. I would like a blackberry, but how can I afford the messenger, internet and such. Now cingular has never mentioned anything to me about that TAP plan in the past..I would like to currently switch to that right now..Can someone help me with some advice or imput..? this is my first thread so i didnt see if anyone had asked this question before.. Thanks

Hello. I have the BlackBerry 8700g which I purchased from Welcome to Deafpagers.com! and I only pay $30 a month through T-Mobile for unlimited email, Internet and IM (I use Yak-On). The same plan applies for the Sidekick.

Hi Deafhunter, me too i really interesting to get blackberry for my finacee..

anyway Did you know that deafpager ( Welcome to Deafpagers.com!) which has 7290 blackberry for free but you have agree with the agreement contact and payment $39.99 for unlimit email.. that what My friend recently got 7290 blackberry for free but she make pay 39.99 months for unlimited emails, not included Instant messeging. If you want to add IM services, it would cost you 14.99 or so.. My fiancee dislike 7290 blackberry, wanted 8700 blackberry.. oh shoot.. i will get 8700 bb for her's sake.. smile.. Good luck to you make deal with Welcome to Deafpagers.com!

what?? you are serious about 30 bucks for emails, ims services?? but my friend did not get ims service, but pay 39.00 monthly. if she wanted ims add on it , they would cost her 14.99.. she got 7290 blackberry from deafpagers for free.. thats strange..

I just checked Deafpagers site and they are offering the 7290 free with a T-Mobile rate plan of $29.99 per month. Same as it has been for a long time.

Yak-on is third party software you can dowload to the Blackberry and use for IMing. It costs a one-time $20. A free IM program is Ramble. The IM client from T-Mobile is too expensive to use. (for me).

^ I use Yak-On and you can read more about it at Yak On! — Mobile Instant Messaging

And, yea, I'm serious about paying $30 a month before taxes. After taxes, it's $31.81 a month.
Yeah I believe you..

anyway There is little confuse for me, T-mobile offer customers that select of 19.95 or 29.95 for unlimited email and web?

I am kind of thank you guys..

Alex or dk747, I wondering if Yak-on use SMS or what?? why you choose yak-on than oz or other IM programs? Is it good feature and live chat like IM on PC or IM on SK? Because I heard that OZ Instant messenge use sms.

Ramble and Yak-on work through your Blackberry Data plan so no extra cost to use (unlimited). OZ uses SMS (text messaging) which T-Mobile only gives you 300 a month. Once you get through the 300 you pay for each message after that. You will use that 300 so fast that you end up paying a huge charge each month. (everytime you send or recieve a line it counts as one message) Not worth it! That's why I use Yak-on.

The reason I use Yak-on over Ramble is that Ramble disconnects too much. However, Yak-on eats the batteries faster than without it. No big deal. I just make sure to keep it charged up.

Using Ramble or Yak-on is live as much as it is on a PC There is no delay.

Thank you for clarification!

Note: Alex, nevermind about unlimited plan price.. I already asked them about it, they already clarified me and my fiancee between 19.99 and 29.99 before purchased it from t-mobile... anyway thanks!

IM+ for BlackBerry RIM devices

IM+
im+6130651.gif

IM+ from Shape Services

I did download it from above.. It is so great and soild as this look like trillian 3v basic but it alot of BUGS AND GLITCHES.. how COST? 50 bucks! OUCH.. they better fix it... IM+ beats OZ Instant messaging programs!!

I did compare IM+ to Yak-On, honestly I choice Yak-on, becasue it is very RELIABLE, stay CONNECT, and reasonable PRICE..

I'm still using Sidekick II, which I've been using since 2005. :)

Blackberry 8700 users,

My fiancee told me that what she noticed my sn always disconnect and reconnect, not stay connect by her own sk3. Now my sn is offline for rest as see left of her sidekick and sns of buddy are on right of my bberry from below. thats strange.. I am using yak-on as third party..Yak-on better fix it..

She fed up with it.. she decided to talk me through Yahoo! IM on my berry.

I am wondering if you had experince with yak-on issues like that from below:

I've never had that issue. I will keep my eyes on it to see if it happens. Is your Yak-on updated to 1.22? Email their support as they always respond quick.

~via BB (Hi!
Dkf747, absolutely YES, Yak-on did update on my bberry. But it stll has minor problem about connection and disconnect as on and off. Like my fiancee notice same behavor with Yak-On connect..I have deal with it since purchased. I hope they fix it asap.. Don't worry about it. :). )

I never had AIM problems on my Sidekick II. My friends never had AIM problems with their Sidekick 3 either. I also have a friend who uses AIM on his Blackberry and it disconnects pretty often. :dunno:

I use IM+ and I have no problem with it.

I set my IM+ to stay connect all the time and if I go out of town out of data tower range then when I am back in range it will automatically reconnect AIM / MSN etc back online for me.

I don't see "lots of bugs or glitches" on mine IM+

I don't know why cingular or At&T told you that a razr would be good for all that. Really they should of at least given you the samsung phone that flipped open to have a full keyboard and such. But honestly, I work with relay and the best people I have seen for those who are Deaf or HOH is T.Mobile. They are so nice, don't mind using relay to help out. The sidekicks are a bit high. A friend of mine has one and has unlimited internet, texting IM and all that stuff for like 40 bucks a month. I would definately suggest them. :) Hope I helped out.

The Blackberry monthly plans I have at T- Mobile is only costing me and my wife (we have 8700 and Pearl on my account) aprox $50 plus insurance and taxes. Still cheaper than SK plan. We even have the unlimited texts and no phone minutes since we are deaf.

:ty: T-Mobile for the best plans!
