There are some dreadful pictures there, my heart goes out to all those in the flooding. Prayers for them. There's lots of tv coverage too, unbelievable!

Yes, and it's not over yet. :(

I learned that a SC woman had to escape flooding, so she grabbed her kids and cats. She put the five cats in a suitcase to rescue them.

How frighten that had to been for everyone including the kitties .

yeah, I agree - how scary for all! Those pictures are very moving and sad of the devastation. In one of those pictures in the link Reba just posted there is a pic. of a family on a boat, being pulled through the water. The caption reads in part....."Jerry Hardy and his wife, Tracey, evacuate their family...."
In the boat is a young Yellow Lab. He or she is part of the "family" too. I was especially touched by that picture.

I learned on the news tonight that S. Caroline had enough rain to end the drought in California . Only if there was some way had gotten all that water to Calf.

I also just learned from the local TV news that one pregnant woman from my community had to be rescued by small boat while she was in labor! She did make it to the hospital to give birth to a healthy baby boy (which they did NOT name Noah).

That will be an awesome story to tell in years to come though. Scary though that it happened that way.

I learned my train tomorrow was cancelled due to the flooding in SC so I won't be going to FL for a same day turnaround to DC. Luckily I had not cancelled my backup ticket for this Friday. I'll be going down Friday morning to meet my friends for the start of our 3 day weekend of riding trains.

Unfortunately, looks like my friend in FL won't be coming to the gathering because she does not fly. Another who lives in FL changed his plans to fly up.

Realized that my backup train goes to Savannah, so most likely will be cancelled on Friday. So I cancelled it and, using part of my voucher from the other cancelled train, booked an Acela to Washington. My first time riding Acela.

It made national news this morning (10/06/15) on ABC at least.

I've got 4 myself and I can't fathom carrying them all at once. Not without losing a bunch of skin. And blood.

A suitcase....

I learned that 15 counties (including mine) in SC have banned hunting deer for the rest of this season because of the flooding.

Very interesting. I enjoyed his Have Gun Will Travel show when I was a kid. He was also a Navy veteran who saw action during WWII.

I liked that too, I don't see this on TV anymore , I see a lot other old western shows but no Have Gun Will Travel .

That my head trauma seen to be affecting my thinking , I am not able to think clearly when my head hurt a lot . I notice it in my posting and when trying to spell simple words. I been making a lot of OOPS lately :(
