Hello there
My name is Laura. I'm in my fifth Semester studying " special education"(specialising in deaf/ hard of hearing) in Hamburg/ Germany.
Like probably a few of you here I have some problems with my hearing. I'm deaf on my left hear and I have a high hearing loss on my right ear. I decided to become a teacher for deaf and hearing impaired children mostly because of my own experiences and my two internships in schools.
I plan to study abroad for one Semester and I don't know where to study. Which University is quite good in deaf/ hearing impaired education?I already looked up some interesting universities ( University of Kansas, University of Northern Colorado). I'm not from the States, and I unfortunately don't know anyone who studied in this area , so I don't know of the Reputation of the universities etc.
Even if you can't help me choosing a university. Maybe you know a good school for hearing impaired children? I also plan to do an internship there
Would be great to hear back from some of you
Laura
