Was There Just a Major New Chemical Weapons Attack in Syria?

Yes, that's correct, Obama hasn't authorize the strike yet and the congress is in pending right now.

I'm ok with limited involvement.

I'm ok with staying out.

Well ... it would be a logistical failure to arm the Al Qaeda backed Syrian rebels and come to their aid by attacking Assad's forces then wouldn't it?

hmmm.... Al-Queda-backed Syrian rebels.... Hezbollah-backed Assad's army...

all for more reason why we should stay out. the history has repeatedly shown that American/European-involvement in any Middle Eastern matter has always ended in bloodbath with no end at sight

Remember how the US got involved in the Spanish American war?

USS Maine (ACR-1) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I read an article (I can't remember if it was the National Geographic or Time) that did an independent investigation of the explosion on the USS Maine. they found that the powder room on board the vessel was in the room right next to the coal burning engine room. The explosion was also found to have come from aboard the ship, rather than an attack from a torpedo or other type of weapon - in other words, it exploded from the gunpowder room.

God I hope we can just for ONCE stay out of it and mind our own damn business... Seriously... -_-

..and oil will get dearer....

What is going to happen when Assad crosses the blue line? Or the orange line? What about the turquoise with a touch of beige line? Maybe Obama should put up a color coded graph of lines Assad should not cross, just "to be clear". I hope Assad is not color blind.

Seriously though ... why can't the Arab League just police their own part of the world?

RIGHT? Why do we have to step in all the damn time... Let them sort out their own crap!:ty:

Arab League? they mind their own business. Since it's a Syrian problem, then it's Syrian people who have to deal with it themselves. the only thing that Arab League concerns itself with is oil.

I heard that Saudi Arabia wants USA to do something about it. Why? Same with France and Turkey calling USA for military action against Syria. Many countries depend on our military.

You and others are right about backing off. Enough is enough. We are war-weary.

Yes, they offered to pay the US to invade Syria and remove Assad from power. I guess the United States are being viewed as hired mercenaries now.

My point is this - they have been given military weapons and military aircraft capable of policing their own territory. We do not need to be involved with Syria - let the Arab league worry about it.

Putin says he watched the Congressional hearings. Putin says that Sec. Kerry is a liar.

It is obviously that Putin is pro-Assad.
Is so, then the US should take that seriously into consideration.

...In remarks that could raise tension further before he hosts President Barack Obama and other G20 leaders on Thursday, Putin also said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry lied to Congress about the militant group al Qaeda's role in the Syrian conflict.

"They lie beautifully, of course. I saw debates in Congress. A congressman asks Mr Kerry: 'Is al Qaeda there?' He says: 'No, I am telling you responsibly that it is not'," Putin said at a meeting of his human rights council in the Kremlin.

"Al Qaeda units are the main military echelon, and they know this," he said, referring to the United States. "It was unpleasant and surprising for me - we talk to them, we proceed from the assumption that they are decent people. But he is lying and knows he is lying. It's sad."…

In Syria, the rebels have two different factions - Al Qaeda backed rebels and moderate backed rebels.

We did have limited involvement in Libya, even Al Qaeda got invovlement in some rebel faction.
Do you want us to get into an armed confrontation with Russia?
