My sister owns plug-in hybrid Chevrolet Volt. I had driven it and feel very quiet with electric motor. Save great lots of gas at 75 to 90 MPG. Wow! Range is about 35 miles without gas. I will wait to see new plug-in hybrid SUV or CUV next few years.

lol yea. Chevrolet Volt is an electric car.

Chevy still use gasoline engine. I played it around from my old job in 2 years ago.

Hybrid mean 10-15 Mph from HV batteries and 15mph or up use gasolone power. HV batteries got recharger from gasoline power when 20MPH or up.

Chevy Volt use HV batteries at any speed till battery low to 25% then switch to gasoline power and recharger HV batteries till fuel went low then stop and refill up the gas then switch to HV batteries when fuel get full tank.

Okay. I remember my old teacher from auto tech and said it was not really hybrid due no switch between HV batteries and gasoline at frequency time in almost 3 years ago. It was not exactly same as Toyota Priue. Later GM label it as plug-in hybrid since it have both gasoline and HV batteries.

See "MPG" on Chevrolet Volt s dashboard. not MPGe I still confused about it.

These are sold over here as the Holden Volt. They haven't been huge sellers though on account of being hugely expensive - in fact I don't think I've ever seen one on the roads here.
We're still rather backward over here in Western Australia though.... I guess you'd see plenty over in Melbourne or Sydney as Taxicabs.
