Well, I took piano lessons for 4 years way back in grade school, I still play just don't have a piano anymore ( sold my baby grand during my second divorce)
Anyways I have acquired a nice collection of sheet music as well as books. I have some dating back to 1700's or so done in Quill and Ink.
I decided to sell, and have someone coming to look at them today since I really have no interests in them. I know by heart all the ones I love to play so really no use to me anymore. Some are Bach, Beethoven and many other popular composers, all the way up to the Beetles and more popular artists... Someone is meeting me at 10am, We shall see what happens.

i would thought some would be worth alot..have you tried ephmera collectors,(i spelt it wrong)i sold stuff to them and i know america got collectors
 
Just got back, and got what I was asking.... $100
Maybe should have asked for more, but Im just happy its out of my way and not collecting dust anymore.

some were very early 1800's and a couple were quill and ink, probly back to late 1700's.... even found some family history hand written letters dated 1881, 1883....wow

I'm now wondering maybe you should have seen an appraiser beforehand.....
 
Maybe, but I am happy to have a Benjamin in my wallet rather than a box of old papers sitting around. Would have been nice to have a few grands but didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of it all.

I did google some collectors and called, no one seemed interested. I also researched them ( a few older ones ) and they only sell for between $1 to $5 in good shape, these had tears and aged pretty well. Bindings were torn or deteriorated on the books. Still very readable, some ink has transferred to other pages ( quill and ink ) or stained brown from the iron in the ink. I could have taken them to an auctioneer but then again, time is money as well as their 33+% of the sales or whatever they are charging now... too much of a headache to deal with as I got too much going on now.
 
If the buyer is happy and the seller is happy then all is well. :)
 
My cousin collects that stuff I'd have given you $100 myself to get it for him especially the German and older stuff ... he collects anything dating pre civil war era to post WW2 era

A while back I sold a German Bayonet, a U.S. Bayonet dated 1914 and some other war items ( My uncle served 4 tours in Vietnam, another uncle in the Korean war ) and more friends realatives in recent wars from Desert Storm and on. My Grandfather served during WWI.
I still have some items, an old carbide miners lamp, they are all over ebay but mine is rare as it still has the rubber base that the ones on ebay don't have. I am looking to sell it and I have some old lion head carvings from the early/late 1800's that were the corner piece to a door frame that was in my Grandparents house. I thought to use them in my house for décor but will sell if the price is right on them. I will dig these up and get pictures to post here... I think I have a few pics in my photobucket... brb
 
A Pair of carved Lion Heads, these has been cleaned up since the pictures, cleaned the paint spatters off and the dust, used Murphys oil soap and did wonders, really brought out the true beauty of them.





And a carbide Miners Lamp with rubber base cant find so Ill take new pics later
 
try british ones..i saw some brillient art de-copage concetpial could use some to do that with it

Don't think he'd want the lion heads but wish I'd have known about the bayonets he does re-enactments from WW1, WW2 and the civil war alot ... (mostly WW2 and the civil war) they always like to get authentic stuff instead of reproductions when it comes to things they use for that ... a guy even bought and restored an armored personnel carrier the germans used in WW2 ...

I had some sterling silver medals if I can find them, sharp shooter and all the likes that hangs under one another. They are real, my uncle was throwing them out and I saved them from the trash. If I find them when I get settled down Ill let you know

I said sharpshooter as I couldn't think of it at the time... it was Marksmanship, has 2 rifles crossed in an "X" pattern, then there are bars that hang bellow it with other rankings or whatever they are called. Also one for paratrooping and I cant remember the others. I will find them and send you some pictures as well. I may have some things I even forgot about as everything's been packed away since the 80's :roll:
