Most stadiums have a DD program now where you wear an armband saying you are the designated driver and you get free sodas. That helps I'm sure.

Are you suggesting MADD is worthless? They were the ones that created some of the first ad campaigns way back.
 
I know a guy who is a parking lot attendant at a local watering hole. His job is to steer away those who would park there to go to another business nearby. He says that he is used to anger, but those who were drinking tend to act upon their anger , so he uses extra caution and diplomacy in dealing with them. Hah.

That is great. But it addresses your physical health, not the contribution individuals make on that allow hatred and discrimination to be an accepted part of our society.

Yeppers. Anger is already there. Alcohol does not create it. Just allows the individual to act on it with less provocation.

I think ticket prices are already a factor. It's $1300 fo 4 tickets to a Cowboys game in my section. (face value) I know I don't drink anymore because at those prices I don't want to miss the game standing in line for the bathroom. :lol:

I think their techniques are pretty worthless when it comes to addressing the prevalence of alcohol and drug use in this country. People already know that it is illegal and dangerous to drink and drive. Telling them again isn't going to make a difference.

The Federal Uniform Drinking Age Act, signed into law in 1984.

They were a pioneer in the ad campaigns. Their methods are outdated now, but they were one of the first to get the ball rolling. Funny, I mention them and EVERYONE knows who I mean. Guess they failed to make an impression. :roll:

The emphasis of MADD isn't that DUI is illegal. Like you said, drivers know that. Their emphasis is showing the people how DUI impacts individuals, families, and society.

So, how would you do it better?
