No surprise here. The end result is that sober Dodger baseball fans will end up footing the bill for this, along with the state of California's legal system.
Some people are fully capable of doing senseless violence without any help from "messages."
I didn't read anything in the linked story that said anyone wanted to "battle hatred with more hatred." There was no mention of anyone seeking revenge. The focus seemed to be more about the victim's recovery.
Start from the top. Pretty easy to move from point A to point B, even though it is a ridiculous thing.
All people are capable of senseless violence. That has nothing to do with the topic of hatred and the way it impacts society.
Look around you, Reba. Battling hatred with more hatred is exactly what is going on in this country.
No, you took a detour through circular reasoning to get from Point A to Point B in this case.
What solutions are you offering to combat this growing rage problem; counseling? I am puzzled. Pointing out a problem is just the start. I am just a tired old machinist. My people skills are nil. You are the behavior expert. What is the answer???
Gonna take more than counseling. It is a societal problem. The solution has to be society wide. We create these problems as a society. But change begins with one.
Well of course that is going to be brought up at trial. Just like a woman who has been raped will have her blood alcohol levels brought up if she sues the stadium where it happened. That is nothing more than legal manuvering. The Dodger's lawyer is being paid big bucks in retainers to try and keep them from having to pay out millions in settlement dollars.
Is that what you're trying to do? Are you using more hatred to battle hatred?... Battling hatred with more hatred is exactly what is going on in this country.
In your opinion, that would be what?...The solution has to be society wide....
Is that what you're trying to do? Are you using more hatred to battle hatred?
MADD has never claimed to be a temperance organization. They don't care if people drink. They just don't want them to drink and drive.Statistically, MADD has made no difference at all in alcohol consumption in this country. They are, once again, attempting to make a difference using the same ineffective methodology that has been used all along.
This made me cringe.... NOW you are okay with making assumptions based on eyewitnesses?
In many other cases, you adamantly took a neutral stance no matter how much circumstantial evidence there is.
Come on, man....
Personally, I think it was hateful a-holes fueled by alcohol. I wouldn't call it a hate crime though.
Yes. That is why I exercise often, avoid stress, and steer clear of alcohol. I don't want to be part of the problem.
MADD has never claimed to be a temperance organization. They don't care if people drink. They just don't want them to drink and drive.
What methodology do you think would be more effective in stopping people from driving alcohol impaired?
In your opinion, that would be what?
I think MADD was one of the things that increased anti-DUI awareness. They did not cause a reduction in drinking so much as made people aware that they should not drive.
I think you have a bit of a misunderstanding regarding the creation of and maintenance of the problem.
How about if a person is drunk and crashed his car into a guard rail. Can he sue the DOT? Since it is their road??
I believe Bryan Stow was shooting off his mouth. I believe the attackers and himself should be responsible. Not the stadium.
They need to take responsiblities for their own action and quit blaming the stadium for what happened.
A woman goes to the bar and goes with someone... and gets raped. Is she to sue the bar?? Or the man who raped her?
