Random Vents.....

So we've been out power for almost 24 hours now due to crazy wind out this way. I'm writing from my friends' house, stealing her electricity, and wondering when mine is going to get back up. On the bright side, school was out today, might be tomorrow. Bad side: There are fallen trees everywhere and it's a nightmare to get around.

Might be gone for a while again.

Why do people love to strut around naked in the gym changing rooms?!

Why must the cycle be repeated? Ugh. Thank god I was able to talk to my pastors wife via text to calm me down/cheer me up. The more I live here the more I want to pack my bags and leave.

do it!

MIL is upset with the carpet in the living/dining room and wants it shampooed. She comments that it's due to "the family being careless with all of the drinks and food". Well, we carry around glasses or bottles of water. We don't eat in any room except the kitchen. The cats do not have accidents or spit-ups on that carpet. She is the one eating and drinking in those rooms and her bedroom. I have a Hoover Steam Vac that I used in her room when she had to go to the hospital and nursing home recently. This carpet is 15 years old and has been through a flood when the hurricanes swept through this area 5-8 years ago. (Can't remmy as I wasn't here). She will not allow me to use mine as "it's not a professional cleaner". "Well crap woman. It got all the stains out of your room and your carpet is still clean now, 8 months later!"

I figure I get to spend the day out of the house (I am allergic to their cleaners and hubby will have to run something over it before I can come back), and it's her money to waste.

Big thing though, I get to get rid of my shampooer soon as our new house will not have carpeting. Also, she plans on taking out carpet after we get out house an putting in tile.

Well then, why doesn't she rent a rug dr from the grocery store and do it herself then? :D

Wish my dad wasn't so mean to me :-( I know that he is retired and wants to sit around and do retired stuff all day and doesn't want to watch my kids but I kind of wish he would just flat out tell me no rather then just be so hateful with me. It was originally his idea to watch them anyways...

Ummm, no.

I usually do a hyperventilating exercise... but this batch is especially stubborn. Wait... hey... I think they're gone! Posting to AD cures hiccups!!!

I find drinking a full glass of water without stopping works every time.

When I had a house, (yep I'm one of those poor schleps who lost it due to foreclosure this year), No carpeting was installed in the foray or the kitchen and dining rooms. And anyplace wherecarpeting had to be installed, I insisted on short carpeting you could clean with a sweeper if needed, like berber. Hardly any problems! Of course, the flipper who 'stole' our house ripped it out and replaced it with some shaggy crappy stuff.

Ears are blocked from my cold, doc says no infection but my ear tubes are stuffed with mucus from my sinuses and thickening.
The meds to clear it out makes me so brain dead that I can't use big words.

came into work and saw 2 letters to the editor on my desk.. CRAP! I hate having to type up letters to the editor. I just hate doing them.

Still no power. I know it could be worse, but it sucks...especially when one has a research paper due in a week. <sigh> I hope they can get the power back up soon. The company gave us estimates, the first was 24-36 hours (this was Wednesday night), then yesterday night it was three hours, and now they won't even give us an estimate. They just don't know.

My vent today...Just two miles away from the before and after school care where my son stays at, I got stuck on the ramp exiting 695 due to a car accident for 30 mintues and was late in picking my son up.I got charged with late fees. :(

Doesn't why you were late make any difference? Were you able to let them know about being stuck because of road being blocked?

I texted my hubby and had him call them since I didnt want to drive and use the relay at the same time...nope, didnt make a difference. They stuck by their policy. I was 3 minutes late and charged a dollar for every minute so I am minus $3 dollars. LOL

My vent?
My mom yelled and cussed at my DD today because she was forcing her to take her medicine. My DD told me, mom confirmed.

UGH.

Why is DD sick? What is the diagnosis, if any?
Just wondering.
