Um, Jillio? You happen to have a dictionary close to hand? Might come in useful...
I checked and dispersion is spelled right. What do you have in mind?

I was trying to be nice and ignore that.
But you're right, maybe that was intended.![]()

.Not accusing you of casting dispersions at all
Buffalo, Jillio: read the definition of "aspersions" and "dispersion." In the immortal words of Inigo Montoya: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
Maybe it's inaccurate? Some said it's actually Jackpot.
I am actually surprised how inaccurate some initial reports were. Like claiming that Obama's dead for a week and had to wait for DNA to confirm or that he was killed in a missile strike... or that he was in a gun fight. None of them were true.
I'm empathizing with the Native Americans who felt slighted, once again, by the connection of one of their historic figures to a heinous terrorist. So explain it. What is the huge issue about the code name? Does it really matter what his code name was? All that really matters is that he will no longer be directing terrorist activities. The rest of this is just nonsense.
Maybe it's not important to you but some people find it hurtful. Not accusing you of casting dispersions or apsersions at all. I simply don't understand what the issue is.In the grand scheme of things, this issue means less than nothing, IMO.

I don't know who's responsible for the name choice. I doubt that it was the President. It just seems insensitive.
However, since starting this thread, and reading posts from ADers who mention that they weren't taught about Geronimo in school, that could be a clue to what happened. Whomever was responsible for assigning names, probably was never taught any Native American history in school.
How do you know it wasn't referencing the man's name? How do you know the connection was to the historical Native American figure and not a reference to the word yelled by skydivers?
How do you know it wasn't referencing the man's name?
Why doesn't the White House give their explanation of the choice, and put an end to speculation?I don't. But neither do I know that it is...nor do you or anyone else. This is nothing more than jumping to conclusions.
