Seriously it would have been impossible to get through 7th grade history in Texas without knowing all of those. And yes I think it is very disrespectful to compare Geronimo and OBL.

I mean, we name a lot of things after Indian... Chinook helicopter... Black Hawks...

I didn't learn it in school either.

I used to be a fan of Jeff Mac Nelly who was the cartoonist of Shoe and I saw the phrase quite often and it was Skyler who would yell that when he was going down fast on a snowy hill on his sled.

I never heard about Geronimo in school , in fact I did not learn about any great Native Americans in school! I read about Geronimo on my own and I named a cat that I recused Geronimo. My daughter would come home from and tell her history book said only bad things about Native Americans. I told my daughter how the government gave Native Americans blanket infected with smallpox to wipe them out! This was finally printed in one of my daughter history book.
I spoke to an Native American about this and he told that the Native Americans
fought to get that is the history books and they they wanted more of the truth to be put in but that was all they could get in the book!

I am amazed that you don't know nothing about Native Americans at all.

Geronimo is trying to fight the Military and government agents that he and his people (they are Apaches from Arizona) had been fighting to keep their lands. They do not want to be forced to live on the reservation in Oklahoma as the government agents don't treat them with respect and their rights as human beings. That was what we all fought for our lands and our rights. Geronimo was not the only one. But he tried many times to save his people. Native Americans are being forced to moved to another place that they don't want to go. This was their home where they belong before being forced. That is what happen to many of Native Americans in the East Coast being forced to move from their homelands to Oklahoma. How would you feel if you were in their moccasins?

And you called it "Colonization". Ha! Ha! What a laugh. Geronimo and his people including every Native American have been living here for million of years. They do not own the land because the Great Spirit owns the land for them to take care of their forest, meadows, wildlife and water. Many Native Americans love their lands and take great care of them. We never molest the lands because we care about this wonderful wilderness that we live in for many eons and centuries. I am very disappointed about what I am reading here. Osama and Geronimo are nothing alike at all. So don't you dare think like that. :mad:

I think you misunderstood her post. She agrees with you. So do I.

Although I always associated Geronimo more with New Mexico than Az
 
The problem is, Geronimo was used as a code word for OBL, not as a code word for the mission.

Real people's names aren't supposed to be used as code names of targets.

Real people's names aren't used as code names of missions. Missions are usually named for inanimate objects or attributes.

In other words, Geronimo should not have been used at all.

Maybe it's inaccurate? Some said it's actually Jackpot.

I am actually surprised how inaccurate some initial reports were. Like claiming that Obama's dead for a week and had to wait for DNA to confirm or that he was killed in a missile strike... or that he was in a gun fight. None of them were true.

Geronimo is also a word yelled when one jumps out of a plane. I don't see the issue here. Just something else to attempt to cast dispersion. But someone had to really reach for this one.:laugh2:

Not accusing you of casting dispersions or apsersions at all. I simply don't understand what the issue is.:laugh2: In the grand scheme of things, this issue means less than nothing, IMO.
