Since we're not playing WoW here, would you feel it still has the same meaning?

I still don't think about the sexual part of it when I hear tea bagger. It's either about WoW or Tea Party when I hear tea bagger.

So you believe when someone calls a Tea Party person a "tea bagger" it's not meant to be an insult? Why not just say "Tea Party"?

I'm glad to know that people aren't disrespecting the Tea Party movement or trying to compare them to that extremist group. :)

Every word in the world can take on a sexual connotation.

I ruined someone's trip to Bali by accident when I found an UrbanDictionary word, with the word "boat" in it, which has a rather... explicit definition; how unfortunate it is when that word is also the most common and innocent attraction in Indonesia...

If I had known she was going on a vacation close to an ocean... I would had kept my mouth shut.

So when posters call Tea Party people "tea baggers" it's just an innocent accident, and they don't intend to offend?

Honestly, I wouldn't know 99% of the UrbanDictionary terms without looking them up.

Depends on the intent of the posters and the context of their posts. For instance, jillio seems to enjoy playing with the word in an innuendo fashion. So... In that case, not innocent.

I describes Tea Party as very conservative group but for extremist group so no way because they are nowhere to closer as Al Qaeda, Hamas, FRAC, IRA or Nazi.

Sometime, some members of Tea Party maybe more extreme but not this group itself.

Hmm, I didn't know that.

That's a fair assessment. :)

In America, we have to say, "innocent until proven guilty." :giggle:

It's a 15-letters word. Didn't want to mention it on AD for a reason.

Key word here: "seems".:cool2: Can't proclaim "not innocent" on what something "appears" to be. You can only make an assumption.

I had been using the term TeaBagger ..didnt know it was offensive.

Exactly. I have been using the term for months...ever since this particular fringe movement came into media attention. Back then, they even referred to themselves as "Tea Baggers." I was unaware of the sexual connotation until they brought it into the spotlight.

Many people didn't know that until about one year ago when it became popular by Anderson Cooper and other liberal newscasters to intentionally use the term as a double entendre.

Once decent people know how it's being used, they usually quit using the term in order not to be vulgar.

Obviously, if one doesn't know about the other meaning, it's an innocent mistake.
