This happen every year in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland... and people are still expected to go to work.

Mhmmm. I have family in Nova Scotia. One year my cousin (now at Quincy in the States) had so many snow days that she had to make them up over the Christmas holidays.

This storm got about total of 10 inches. But we already had about 14 inches from the storm before that and the snow didn't get a chance to melt yet.
