I was just petting my cats and wow one of them felt like she had bumpy skin.

It's a pure bred rag doll cat. So hairy and all!

For this sort of inconvenience I went ahead and held her upside down to investigate. While she was upside down being the rag doll cat, her head stooped backwards far enough to touch my feet while i was standing!

This allowed every pore of her skin to stretch apart considerably - making it easier for me to dig around to see what was up.

I saw a ton of zits, some of them black, some of them open and bleeding.

I also found some spider mites and their webbings. I used a 60x magnification hand held scope to check that out. Very small red critters crawling around.

WHAT DO I DO?

Oh and good morning.

If it were my cat, I'd call the vet.

And get an exterminator for your home. Plus be more gentle with the cat.

Rag dolls need to be washed from time to time...

And call an exterminator. Take the cat to a doll repair shop.

put it to sleep

j/k. my dog had same (or similar) thing. he had several of it - his back and belly. some were huge and some were bunch of small bumpy hills. it looks like necrosis. it's a bacterial skin infection. vet gave me prescription pills. take it like once a day for a couple weeks. it went away.

First step is to call the Vet. Vet will tell you etc.. just be sure to ask Vet if it were bug thingy then ask vet about your home that need to be clean???

My kitty's rear of his leg got bad infection. At first i wasn't sure so I brought him to vet. Vet said "it is an infection" Vet did not know what caused it. So My kitty is taking an antibacterial medicine. I notice that he stopped nibbling or licking his leg. *crosses fingers* by the way, he's a raggedy doll kitty too. haha
