People still send you letters to your OLD addres when youv been living at your "new place" for 6 YEARS... My audi send a letter to my OLD addres when iv been to the audi about 1,000 times since then!! (okay slight exxageration there)

What's SMH?

And they also changed the time. Luckily my mother rang up otherwise we would have been 6 hours late for the appointment. Originally the appointment was made for 2.30pm, now the appointment is scheduled for 8.30am

SMH = shaking my head. And I hate it too. But the postal service here seems to manage delivery anyway.

I've been living at my apartment complex for the past 15 years and I still receive mail from the resident who used to live here before I did. I keep calling the post office to inform them that she no longer lives here. I also send back the mail with "Return to Sender" written on it to no avail. Having said that, I can't complain about the USPS because my sister is a mail carrier. I've learned alot from her about the way it works and it isn't as simple and straightforward as people think.

On the next trip to the Audiologist I would ask to have your records updated in your presence to ensure they have the correct address, phone numbers, and contacts. This way there is no excuse for them to send your appointment reminders to a previous address.

It should be standard practice for doctor's offices to verify that all contact information is up to date during each visit.

I wont have to go back there after Thursday. I'v never had a problem with them getting my address wrong before now and I'v been there since I was six

You know, have YOU ever thought of verifying your account information with the receptionist at every appointment? They should be doing that anyway, but it's your responsibility to inform them, not the other way around.

Err, iv been to the same place since I was six, they were informed straight away as soon as I moved. they sent me a letter prior to me phoning up so it's their fault not mine. Anyway, im not going back.

Yeah, my parents lived in their house for like 21 years or so and they still was recieving letters for the old owner who had lived there. Lol

Tell me about it!

I've lived at this house for 10 years already and I still get mails that addressed to the previous tenant that used to live here, I wish that tenant would have notified the post office of change of address so that I wouldn't have keep getting their mails as I kept sending them back, and said "this person no longer lives here"

tell me about it
when i lived in a rental house for few years there was like 3 tenants who used to live there. i got like 2 of them with different names and i sent back write that they don't live there anymore.

The only time we should have to inform the receptionist of any address change is if we have moved or if a new 911 address system has been recently taken place and it is to go into effect immediately. The reason for the receptionist confirming correct mailing adresses is to ensure that everything was put into the system correctly and was not altered since the previous visit which can happen when they update their operating systems, or do a security overhaul. Sometimes information can go missing when an update, upgrade, or new equipment is bought and not all the information makes it to the new system. The patients oftentimes don't even realize any of this has taken place. This is why they confirm all contacts with every patient when they come for a visit.

I've gone thru that aggravation myself!....I would write on the envelope...."Return to sender" wrong address......still over and over I kept getting letters/bills/bank statements for somebody else in my box.

Finally, I wrote on the envelope......"Deceased"! Not this address.....Return to sender........everytime I got a wrong letter. Now, very seldom to I get strange mail!

I haven't had a problem where I live now because I built my house so I'm the first and only owner of this house, but my last house had a previous owner. And in the 8 years I lived there I continued to get mail for that previous owner. I always had to mark it "return to sender-does not live here anymore" and still kept getting their mail!

Well here in the United States it's the law to notify the post office at least 30 days prior to you moving that you changing addresses. If people actually took the time to do this, there would be fewer misdeliveries. But if I received mail for the previous owner/tenant I would write deceased and return to the Post Office, regardless of whether or not the person is actually deceased.

Most companies also enclose an address change form with their billing statements so that if your about to move you can fill it out and send it back with your payment so that they can get it put in the system. In these cases, it is usually best to go to them in person about the time the next monthly bill is due and make sure the correct address is on the system.

But I agree your doctor should always ask that your contact and mailing addresses are correct and up to date during each visit.
