As you may notice that in the other thread I created earlier today, about my new PC with dual monitors. Unfortunately, I am running into a minor issue, connecting both monitors to the CPU - I know some of you may want to say EPIC FAIL! but please do not do that, because we have been saying this many times over the past few days and nothing is going to help.

Anyway, the items I got from the package includes

2 x 22" widescreen monitors
2 x DVI cables (both ends)
2 x VGA cables (both ends)
1 x DVI to VGA adaptor.

I have plugged both into CPU, primary monitor plugged to VGA, the other plugged to DVi port via VGA cable with the adaptor, what I don't understand is that the primary monitor works fine, but the second one wont connect.

Do you have any idea that could solve this problem. I have called the tech support over the phone earlier and they are fucking dickheads, and no help!

You need enable 2nd monitor thru Windows.

OS?
Video card type? (Intel,Nvidia, or Ati)

Why still use VGA? I don't use VGA for over 7 years.

That's what you get for saying "EPIC FAIL" too many times! ;)

Anyways, what kind of video card are you using?

Has this worked before on other monitors? It could be that the video card doesn't work or the adaptor you have doesn't work.

I have the same problem with my video card. It's designed for dual monitors, but only one of either VGA or DVI works... not both. The 3rd input is for RCA, which I use for my television. While the quality is low, it's still good for watching movies on my television. :)

Windows XP Professional right now, will replace to Vista Business OS later.
Video card type is ATI 256MB PCIe(TM) ATI Radeon(TM) HD3450 w/HDMI Out and DVI Out.

Both mnitors have one VGA input and DVI input. That goes the same to the CPU.

I don't use Ati for long long times ago. Few my old coworker complained about that so I helped them to solved the problem.

I try to remember as I can.

Go to Display Properties->settings->Advanced.

You should see Ati menu pop up.
Go to displays tab and find anything 2nd monitor in there then click to enable. IF button is gray then try unplug and plug the video cable.

Sound like your video card is wayyyer outdate.

I'll have a look again when I get home, I am still at work, but wont be home until late tonight. Just type up the possible options here and I will try whatever I can when I get home.

Also, my work PC have dual monitors, the CPU have GeForce 7600 GT video card.

Nvidia is very friendly and easy to understand how to use for dual monitors.

Ati is very bitch about that also it have bug with driver too but low price.

That's why I switched to Nvidia in first place ;)

Btw GeForce under Nvidia.

Is there an option to fight with the ati "bitch"?

At the time of my set up my internet connectivity crashed down, so I hope it will be back to normal by tonight, if not - fail once more.

Where's picture? This thread is worthless without picture. ;)

j/k

Same here, I picked GeForce over Radeon.

your DVI port in your v-card should be treated as primary so you should use your primary monitor for DVI. VGA port is usually treated as secondary. but... why in the god's name are both of your monitors VGA?????? it's blasphemy!!

Vampy use GeForce 2 or 3, I think so.

mine's GeForce 9500GT. it's cheap... only about $50-70 in newegg.com :cool2: I'm not sure about GeForce 2 or 3. you mean 200 series?
