I just learned that my friend told me, I knew a person who works at Animal Control. Someone called her that They need to give way their Great Dane dog. They told her that dog is very wonderful and friendly. They want their dog find a good family home. Also They told her that her dog isn't bite.

They bought their Great Dane dog in. My friend took the leash of A Great Dane dog. Dog just turned and attacked her. Lucky Two men who worked there and able to a pulled dog off then the dog tried attacked two men but owner grab leash and away from them! They told them that their dog is very aggressive and couldn't keep a dog because Someone planning sues them for bites.

However, Why first place, they told them that their dog is very friendly?

They told owner that needs to put their dog sleep, but they refused and took dog home!

Now my friend has 47 stitches on her face, neck and shoulder! :squint: Praying for my friend too

Of course, She is planning sues them too :|

I am sorry about your friend. It seems like the people just were not rational about the dog and wanted it to live even if they knew it was viscious.

I feel so terrible for your friend... I hear those kind of news on a regular basis... One reason I am not looking forward to spring because kids will once more biten by those big dogs!

A Dane is a HUGE dog and can be sweet, depending on his temper. A Dane is not necessarily a dangerous dog but one should be very careful! The people should have been open about this! Now they are going to have to face another sue.

I hope your friend won't be too much traumatised after this and will still be devoted to dogs...

Only 2 or 3 months ago, one of my neighbour's kid got bitten in the bottom of his face, and had 3 or 4 stiches near his mouth. The owners decided to put the dog to sleep. The dog's gone now.

OH MY GOOD GRACIOUS!!!!! but you have to understand that animal shelter personnel MUST expected to get bitten/mauled. It's part of the job. What I'm puzzled is that your friend assumed it's all wonderful and friendly. When you work at shelter - you must always assume that every dog that comes into shelter is hostile/aggressive until each dog is verified and confirmed by behaviorist/vet. I'm feeling angry because the owner is SERIOUSLY irresponsible. They should NOT have any dogs at all because if this dog bites people, it means the owner is irresponsible, lazy, and stupid. and he's not going to change his attitude. :mad2:

This is horrible. I hope for a speedy, painless recovery for your friend.

Oh, geez! Just be careful around dogs in the Animal Shelter. I am sorry about your friend.

Oh my goodness! I'll be praying for your friend.

Also I think these irresponsible 'owners' need to be shot for failing to control their animal in the first place, and secondly, for lying to AC about the temperment of their dog just to get them out there to take the dog, and lastly instead of putting down an aggressive animal after it bit a civil service agent, they take it home without any further action!

These owners need to face up to their actions (or the lack of them) and do some jail time, pay your friends medical expenses, and turn the dog over to someone that either specializes in rehabilitating aggressive dogs (usually aggression is due to a lack of training and excercise and proper pack order within the home, all simple remedies if done from the start) or have the dog put down. Im sorry I dont like having a pet put down but you have to take responsibility for your pet.

Im stepping off the soap box and I hope your friends recovers soon!

Perhaps, the dog was very friendly only in that area and being in a strange place made it feel aggressive.

There are also cases where the dog is perfectly friendly... the one day, it attacks for some unknown reason.

I agree with Vampy...

hope your friend will be ok. 47 stitches!!! Damn!

I was reference where Phillips said they knew and wanted to give away because being sued.

I know some dogs suddenly can turn and attack, but in this case seems they knew.

So now they probably will be sued twice, by the original and by Phillips friend. :)

Yes, They are trained to handle vicious dogs. But the owner has mislead this personnel into thinking this dog was a non violent fun loving pet.

"Dog Catchers" Should treat the animals otherwise until it has been confined and deemed otherwise. Regardless of what owners say. They had an obvious reason to get rid of the dog in the first place. That should have been the first clue.

I think it is a 50/50 at fault. Both the owner and the personnel is responsible.

I am sorry that your friend is hurt, Phillip. Hope she recovers quickly.
