I think it would be perfectly fair to make an assumption in advance that anyone who would murder their own child is not sane.

i have a problem with that because we don't know whether or not casey is mentally ill yet. until that fact is proven, i refuse to pass judgement.

besides, you know what happens to people who make assumptions.

I have a problem with alot of the things being discussed in this thread. We don't know jack at this point. The only thing we know is that Casey has been charged. She hasn't gone to trial, so it's way too premature to have any discussion about mental illness or anything else. To suggest that she could be mentally ill implies a reason why she killed her daughter, and we simply don't know that she did.

If she did, that opens up a whole different can of worms. Mental illness is a sticky defense to a crime. It's hard to prove. But, also, there's mental illnesses that may make a person delusional, and therefore, unable to understand the difference between right and wrong. Then, there's sociopathy. In my opinion, a mental illness, but one in which the person KNOWS the act is wrong, but doesn't have the capacity to CARE that it is. If a person is sociopathic, then life long confinement is warranted. In my opinion, treatment won't work. In that instance, you need to protect society from the sociopathic person. When you're dealing with sociopathy, you must think of society first, and the individual, second.

yes i do, but a jury hasn't found casey guilty of murder yet. that's what i'm saying. let's wait for the trial before passing judgement.

Considering the searches recovered from the family computer on subjects like how to break necks, it is my opinion she meant to do way more than just knock the child out and party.

Children of that age are difficult to cope with and it is a very stressful time.
 
It's perfectly normal to share your thoughts what you feel about the mother/or an individual. Everyone has their own entitle to say their pieces, it could be anythin'. I don't see anythin' wrong with it.

I agree Maria. There is not a valid reason why we can't all give our opinion.

I don't see anything in the rules about who dictates what AD members are required to think.

Care to explain how ? Caylee was only 3 years old little girl and she looked soo happy and angelic face. Her face was radianted on a picture. :aw:

Terrible twos. It is a rough developmental patch, and quite notorious for stress.

It starts before age two and goes past age two.
