AD Pet Peeves

cheri and others,

i'm guilty of doing this because i don't know how to quote multiple posts. can you (or another ad'er) explain how this is done? i'd really appreciate it. thanks! :)

[*QUOTE][/QUOTE*] <<this is how you do it. (just remove the stars)

I have a pet peeve I think its so rude but can't say it because it might start a flame war

i'm afraid i don't understand. what exactly do i type to create separate quotes? do i need to copy and past each post that i want to respond to?

My AD pet peeves is when a member replies inside another member's post. It shows laziness when they don't quote each line that they want to respond to. Sorry but that's how I feel. :)

Assuming that all members know how to quote each line or are using a cpu.

Some, including me, don't know how to quote each line.

Some, like what iam doing now, use sidekick to reply. I don't think a SK is able to quote each line.

My AD preeve is Spelling/Grammar Nazi :D

you see why I mispelling preeve because I know what you talking about!

The other way to quote a post or multiple posts is to place the quote tags in the post yourself. Simply copy and paste the text you want to quote between the tags
[*QUOTE]Hey!!....[/QUOTE*] (remove stars)

It's very easy. :)

i agree! there's one particular ad'er i'm thinking of who seems to correct EVERYONE'S grammar and punctuation. even worse, half the time they aren't even right about the suggestions they make.

yep. i'm using a braille display to read and respond to posts. since i'm only able to read one braille line at a time, copying and pasting individual posts is difficult.

You're welcome, I wasn't aware that there were some that did not know how to do it, I thought they were just being lazy. I apology for that. ;)

It doesn´t mean that we are lazy when we didn´t know how to do that... Angel taught me and some ADers how to do at 2 years ago. Remember? I know how to do that is remove 2nd quote at end of post. I use it since 2 years now...

If you were taught how, then why continuing doing it? I'm curious.

Sorry honey.. I am such a Grammar Nazi!! :whip:

i've never seen you point out other people's grammar errors.

i'm also a grammar nazi, but only when it comes to MY posts. i would never dream of criticizing another ad'er on their writing skills.

after all, each of us has different skills and abilities.

also, some of us are strong asl users while others are strong english users.

(by the way, in case people are wondering why i type in all lowercase letters, it's because of my severe carpal tunnel. i don't have the strength to use the shift key to type capital letters.)

Only my hubby when he's typing them into AD, I peer over his shoulder and smack his arm & point out his errors. :giggle:

:laugh2: I got nobody slapping me. It's a good thing cuz if someone slap me, they'll get a black eye.
