For a master bedroom, my bedroom is medium size. We like it but for resale purposes it's probably too small. We have a double-size bed (we aren't large people, and we like to stay close, so we don't need king size), two large dressers (one vertical, one horizontal) a TV on a stand, two night stands, an upright jewelry cabinet for me, a small water fountain, and an antique upholstered chair. We each have small walk-in closets, and an attached bathroom. We have four large windows in the bedroom, one small window in my closet, and two windows in the bathroom areas, so the room seems more spacious.

I don't like clutter or frou-frou, so I try to keep the room simple.

One bedroom is big for me and my hubby is...

Six Door Wardrobe
Six drawer chest
Dressing table with chair
2 bedside for use lamp to read and alarm clock to wake us up...
1 Couch
one old antique door wardrobe for all family's bed spreads, covers, Ironing table, iron, etc... use for iron the clothes... before put things away to our and 2 boys bedrooms...

One 80 years old baby cot - I use them as babies doll collection decoration... after use them when my MIL was baby, then my hubby and his brother were baby, then my both boys... I don't like to put cot away to attic for my boys' future children... so I use cot in my bedroom as babies doll collection decoration until one of my sons have baby, then gave cot to him...

Occchhh I forget to add bed in my list... :o:

Queen bed
2 windows

I prefer medium to big sized room, big is most preferred because I don't like clutter or thing to make more denser.

My room is medium sized with queen bed.

I hate twin bed, haven't sleep for over 10 years.

I like big spaces as well. I like having lots of space to do stuff in like have my computer table, tv, queen size bed, stand up dresser, dresser, 2 end tables and then still have room..

reba,

what is meant by frou-frou? i've never heard of that expression before.

I voted average. My house is small, but our bedroom is the second biggest room. We have a kingsize bed, two dressers, a tv, ironing board, rocking chair, desk with chair. And still room to walk around as long as we stay on the path.

My house is only 1100 square feet, but the bedroom is about 450 square feet of that space.

i think she means nick nacks and just too much stuff everywhere

thanks, alicia. :) i can understand that. i hate knick knacks.

as for clutter, it's amazing how much a rubbermaid container will store. :)

It depend on size of bed and cloths to meet with space of bedroom.

It means lots of fancy ruffles and frills, or gaudy show off decoration, like lacy curtains, doilies, floral wallpaper borders, layers of heavy pleated draperies, and ornate dust catchers.

I don't like doo dads lying around either.

I think it's hard to downsize tho dont u guys? When i moved from the states we had a 7000 sq ft home and then we moved here to a townhouse that i think is 1400 sq ft i believe...lets just say..we had to sell alottttt of furniture!

downsizing may be difficult for some, but it wasn't a hard transition for me.

in fact, i liked moving from a large duplex to a smaller one bedroom apartment because i was able to get rid of alot of junk that had accumulated over the years due to having so much space to put everything.

i hate having lots of stuff i can't do anything with. i think it's easier to have clutter when you have a large home/apartment vs. when you have a small home/apartment.

I like spacious rooms, my apt is perfect not too big or not too small. My bedroom is spacious no clutter at all enough to put I need to fit.

I prefer average to big space because I don't like the clutter and less space between furniture to furniture, etc.

I prefer big bedrooms. It's easier to keep clean with a bigger room than with a smaller room. With a small room, everything gets crammed up. :(

I know most of Europeans families tend to live whole together in one house, so their house must be big :)

well, i never get lost inside of my apartment (most blind people don't unless they are newly blinded) because it isn't a huge space.

even if it were, i could still figure out where i am by using landmarks such as furniture.

speaking of furniture, i always make sure that it's kept alongside the wall so that i don't trip over it. even my coffee table is pushed up against the sofa to avoid accidentally hitting my shin on the corner of it as i walk by.

as for the stove, i have braille markings to identify stove/oven controls. i NEVER place my hands on the stove to know when it's hot.

instead, if i'm boiling water for instance, i place my hand (palm down) high enough above the pan to feel the steam rise. this tells me that the stove is working properly.

Ohh now I got it :)

I just wonder which you prefer BIG, Average, or Small space?

I prefer the small space because so easy to take care and keep everything organized, also very easy to decorate and making it look cute and cozy.

Even though I have another two average size bedrooms and one of them with full bathroom, I dislike them. I was used to stay in the bedroom with full bathroom, but always messy and empty because it was too big for me and too much works, also I don't really have so many stuff to decorate that room so I moved to that one tiny bedroom, only 4 ft x 8 ft space and are happy with that room, that room almost never get mess or having any high traffic of people, also most of my stuff in that room are very organized. Many people told me that I should move back to that bedroom with full bathroom, even though they like my small bedroom, but I refuse to listen to them. Funny is that I don't like big bed neither, I feel more comfortable in the small bed because it make me feel like my body are under control and no other space to fight to have good sleep on.

Anyway, here's what my bedroom look like.

I'd like to add, I also have the lanudry room, rear hall (which I don't know what it's for, which it was used to be outdoor porch), a big living room (thanks to one of my friend who allow me to use his furniture to make my living room denser), also a kitchen and dining room.

My house is approximately 1,000 square feet, but the largest room of all was the living room which contains of 300 square feet, secondly was the master bedroom with the full bathroom.

i like spacious bedrooms. just incase i decide to do something random. or have friends over.

I tend to not have the visitors hanging out in my bedroom because I live alone and if there are any visitors, they would be hanging out in the living room :)

I agree. I prefer to entertain visitors in the public areas of my home. My bedroom is for Hubby and me.

I understand it's a different situation for people living in dorms, studio apartments, or with parents.

Yup it's all about the privacy :)

Same here, I was used to have the friends hanging out in my bedroom when I lived with my parents..
