Will it ever end...?

What a day for you to complain about this, Nathan. It is the most historic election day. When you are a litlle older I think you will be more interested in it.

I confess, I am bored with it too, but it will be over soon, and then we could debate some of Daredevel's ideas.:wave:

I know, I know, I just can't help it. Most historic you say? It's just another election day like it would every 4 years. There is nothing new about it. It's all about competition. The world will never change, I assure you.

If we have the first president who is African-American in ancestry, it will be very historic.

It may just be another election day but I assure you, The world will change.
 
Election threads will go away in few hours as soon we know who is our next US President.

CI threads - I dont like them but some people feel that they need either to defend or speak out against CI. Let them vent out their frustrations.

Martin Luther King Jr was leader of civil right movement nothing to do with presidency. What we re going to witnesss today is gonna to very historicial day for Americans for it has never been done to have BLACK person to lead United States.

We as Americans are witnessing the possiblity of electing the first African-American to the Presidency or the first woman to the Vice-Presidency. This election is indeed historic. :)

Ummmm, maybe you haven't realize this facto yet, but voting actually occurs every year in November, AND there are important things and people likely pertain to your interests. I have not a clue about Pueto Rico local gov't, but there are voting here every year in US.

First of all, you weren't screwed because Obama won by a landslide and secondly, Obama is going to be another Clinton or JFK -- exactly what America needs. :D
 
Well the elections is over and my "political animal" side of me has gone into hibernation for 4 more years. That's unless something interesting pops up then I will speak my mind.

And oh about the CI threads...its just nothing new. I just stay out of 'em cuz its like a hot potato that's been baked on a volcano, and I dont want to get burned handling one. But then unlike politics, CI is a never-ending debate with the Deaf culture. It will last way beyond infinity through multiple generations of Deaf people.

I'm a "political junkie" so I will continue following political events as they happen. I'm especially looking forward to the Presidential inauguration on January 20 when Obama takes office. Just like yesterday's election, it will be a monumental day in history.

As for CI debates, I keep away from them for several reasons. First, if someone chooses not to get a CI for themselves, I respect their decision 100%. Second, if an anti-CIer wants to spread misinformation about CIs, it does little good to try and correct the myths that they perpetuate and third, the CI debate always seems to be an endless argument that goes on and on and on. Instead of choosing to participate in such debates, I prefer to educate those who are truly interested in CIs about my experiences without pressuring them to get an implant. I'm always happy to share my experiences, but always emphasize that just because a CI is right for me doesn't mean it's the right decision for everyone.

Also, it helps keep my blood pressure under control when I don't participate in CI-related debates. :giggle:
