What freedoms did we used to have in the U.S.A that we don't have now?

Agree... its has to do something with issue of overpopulated spray dogs in large citites. Overwhelming the pounds.

I have had three dogs in my life time. two were sprayed and one wasn't. I had more problem with my non-sprayed dog as he love to seek heated dogs. Oh well... its our responsible to control the pets anyway.

Unfortunately, I was living in rural and non-sprayed dog was killed by .22 rifle. We suspect neighbor hate us and saw our dog trying to hump their dog. So they just went after my dog. Sad story... happened 11 years ago when I was a kid in middle school.
The word is "spay", not "spray.". If your third dog was a male he couldn't be spayed because that's for female dogs only.

Spaying for female dogs is a hysterectomy surgery.
Neutering for male dogs is a castration surgery.

Which state does this apply to?

Michigan title office cannot afford interpreter because of State laws restrict their fees at closing. ADA does not apply....
I live in South Carolina but the ADA is Federal law, and it applies to all lawyers.

I don't understand how a closing fee limit effects the lawyers' obligation to pay for terps. The terp fee is not part of the closing fee. The terp fee is part of an attorney's doing business expenses, like paying the monthly phone bill. (Sometimes they whine but too bad.)

In the end, most understand that using a terp is a liabilty protection for them. A deaf client can't easily use the excuse about not understanding the closing procedures or paperwork to go after the attorney later, if a terp is used.

The lawyer can list the fee in his itemized business expenses at tax time.

As a pet owner, we do not want to spay our small dog yet animal control said we must spay our small dog. Before we had a choice, but now they made decision for us against our wishes. That is not America I know of.

Yep, it happens in some states. You are not the only one in your state when that happens. It's very true that it is not America ... more likely a " communist " country I shall say.

Now I had to hid my small dog from them so they won't ticket us for not spay her and not license her (need to spay before we can license her).

 I don't blame you.

Ahh, Jolie - I remember when I was a kid livin' in Fresno, Calif...there were no fences around on the front yard. We ( siblings ) used to run across the neighbors' front yards back and forth, just playin'. The neighbors don't mind it, never complaint about it. In 1985, I was 25 years old at that time and decided to visit my old house where my parents used to live - to my amazement, there are some fences on each neighbor's front yard. They do not want children or any pet to play on their front yard and even, they have their own bars on their windows as well. I remember there was no bars when I was a kid at that time. So much changes alot lately. :-o

I remember the feelin' when I visited there... gee, my feelin' was like " it's not the same anymore ". There's no trust nowdays. That trust is gone. It makes difficult to make friends. No more carefree in a sense. More control nowdays and less freedom.

Unfortunlately yes, I can see overpopulated is the reason.

Yes, very true about non-spayed pets because I myself have 4 cats. It drove me crazy when they were on heat... The vet cannot spay/neutered the cats and dogs until they are 9 months old then... Sussi, my 22 years old cat drove us crazy thru her heat... We have to live with it until she was 9 months old then have her to be fixed and then over... *phew* I found 6 weeks old kitten at forest and adopted her as Kim and take care of her for 3 years until she killed by car last year. She was scream like crazy, it BOTHER my sons... I told them that we have to live with it until she is 9 months old then... but the time goes fast... she escaped out of my house to end to have 4 cute kitten...:giggle: After that I had her fixed straight way... we keep 2 female kitten... My both sons told me that their noises are awful when they turn heat.... it hurt their ears :giggle: I have both 10 months old kitten fixed... and then over... *phew* I know it's very hard to live with non-spay/neutered pets when they turn into heat.. I as responsiblie pet owner prefer to see my cats to be fixed to prevent them into heat like crazy... Each person is different.

Oh my dear, I'm very sorry about your non-spray dog... I cannot beleive it... :(

Yes correct. When you say "adopt" - I assumed that it's from pet shelter. and yes you are correct that private breeders do not spay/neuter the puppies because the puppies will lose a significant monetary value :laugh2: and they are not required by laws to do so. It is very common for town/cities to have a law requiring that your dogs be registered and required to be spayed/neutered. Again - this is for EVERYBODY'S safety and clean environment.

Yes, it's true.

Do you want to see stray cat/dog breeding many kittens/puppies all over the place? Do you want to see your child getting attacked by stray dog?

Question: Why can't anyone call animal control to resuce spray cats/dogs ? It's not fair to leave stray cats/dogs alone starving...

It remind me of Greece, I withnessed how starving the spray cats/dogs were..... We fed them everyday... Many Europeans took spray cats/dogs back to their home for gratis...

I never see any spray cats/dogs attack children in my life but dangerous dogs...like pitbulls, rotweiller, etc.

People who don't believe in spay/neuter are absolutely wrong. It is NOT cruel and it is IRRESPONSIBLE not to do so. These people are just overly-sensitive type who probably think eating meat is wrong. This procedure doesn't even hurt at all!!!! The dog will just get back to normal in just couple days and he/she doesn't even know what just happened but what is GREAT is that they do not have a horrible sexual tension. .

Well, each person see what they beleive in... *shrug*

All what I see what I beleive in is get my cats to be fixed and then peace and clean...

As long as they take care of their pets well then is great.

Believe me - it is ABSOLUTELY CRUEL to get dog/cat sexually-frustrated every time. VERY CRUEL

:laugh2: I know what you mean... that's why I have all of my cats to be fixed...

Please, people--they are NOT spraying dogs and cats!

A cat can "spray" a human but most likely the vet will never spray a cat!

It is S P A Y, not SPRAY.

Another freedom that is under attack is Freedom of Speech--online.

yes yes... very true. The good ole' time.... it was like that tv show - WONDER LIFE where kids play on street, neighbors saying hi to each other, etc. and now.... seems like paranoia and security are on all-time high - fenced property, warning signs, etc. :(

I do not understand how can Michigan fight with lawyer stated ADA is not required in their title office. Where mode of communication falls to writing paper and pen. I need a ADA lawyer on my side to continue to fight but it cost us money to have ADA lawyer.

Thanks for pointing out difference. Neutering two dogs, one was not and we gambled. We had three male dogs, never a female dog.

So you understand how pet owner feels about issues spay or neutered.

Everyone has their own story, do u wanna to hear ours? My husband, our neighbors and a cop went out one morning shot and killed couple dogs for killing cow and hurt couple of other farm animals, goats, one horse and two cows. The owners of dead dogs had to pay for dead cow and vet bills. Once dog taste for blood then they are no good.

I have heard the same thing. My rural area, i have seen many dead dogs because of sheep herd. One night there was mass killing of sheep for some reason. Figured out and went after all dogs in the area. So many dogs died that day. I have seen few dead bodies and how they carried them away.

Now I dont live in rural, I dont hear about dogs being killed over sheep or cows. But its true it does happen.

Wait! I know....

I miss the freedom of discrimination against people I don't like in business. ;-P

Just a quick note cuz I gotta go outside and spray my dog. Great post at # 122, Reba!

That's incredibly stupid and not right of them to do that.
