I applied for jobs and received two calls. One picks up the machine all the time. I left her a message to call me and leave an appointment, and I'd call back to confirm it.
The other one I called and she asked me a question, then said she had to go and would call me back. I said that I cannot receive calls and if I could call her back. She told me a time for tomorrow, but I said I had a committment and if she had another time. The relay typed "laughs" and she gave me a 3 o'clock appointment. I also told her that if it's easier to do an interview that it would work. She said, "Not at this time." So I said that I'd call her tomorrow at 3 pm. What do you think? Should I avoid the phone and go there in person at that time? I'd explain that I felt it would be best to meet in person because I know that the phone can be uncomfortable for a lot of people.
I always forget that most of the jobs I have gotten is from being there in person. I never use the phone. I use it after they interview me. I don't know why I give the relay a chance. Most people say things that makes you think that they might be avoiding you.
Any advice?
Thank you. Also, what form of communication worked for you the best when you get a call or follow-up an application?
Does it work for you if you have someone else make the call for you?
