I don't use phones much. But I was giving a friend a ride (but the friend was driving my car) and she ended a phone conversation her mom with the excuse that we were crossing into New York, which bans cell phone use. For people who live near state borders with differing laws, it seems like a sneaky way to end phone conversations...

I am glad that it was banned in many places, my last time accident was from a man who was on the cell phone and driving.

Well we can't use any of those while driving, if we need to use it then we will have to park at the parking lots or the parks, or fields, or whatever to use the cell phone or sidekicks. I think pulling over on the shoulders of the roads are only for emergency.

Wow. It's very strict! I am curious. If someone don't follow the rules. What it will be happen to someone? Will police pull over and charge to someone?

Yupp we will be pulled over and charged if caught by the polices. I know it's pretty strict, Washington have some of driving laws that could be competitive strictly as California. Taking the test take few months to finish to receive a driver liscense here.

It is impossible for me to reply a email or SMS on my sidekick while driving! :eek3:

I don't own blackberry or sidekick or cell phone . If I will get a new blackberry curve in the future and I won't use blackberry when I am driving.

i cant believe that in countries and also USA but PLUS my hometown!

i cant believe London,England would have banned for cell phone! if its would be true!

Hands-Free: The Washington State Cell-Phone Law & Text Messaging Ban

Thank you for post a website. It's interesting. I figure nothing ban in my state. It's weird. That's good thing I don't drive. I can talk on blackberry during ride whatever I want. If I drive. When people IM or text message me. I will tell them hold on and driving. They will not bother me. Same thing with my friends. I was accident IM my friends on their sidekicks and tell me hold on because they are driving. I don't bother them until they are done with drive.

It is interesting to see other countries that ban cell phones while driving. Some countries looks more tougher than other countries.

When I was in New Zealand, I don't use cellphone while driving. I'll wait until stop at the red traffic lights then check, send or reply the messages.
