Cop gives three teenagers a taser shock

That's okay if you disagree with me. This video of cop is not a troublemaker. He want to test. I do agree with you about illegal to use taser shock for children and teenager. It's true! It's American things. I know Germany and American are different laws. The American cops can be stupid!

What I don't understand is that when they do the "demonstrative" taser/electro-shock episodes, they show folks attaching electrodes of sorts.

When does an officer take the time to attach the electrodes (I don't know their technical term and apologize for causing any misunderstanding) before the officer disables the suspect with a taser/electro shock?

I don't think I've ever heard of someone dying from a taser shock after s/he was attached with electrodes.

Assume it should be over 300 deaths caused from tasers by now already.

Although the ratio is rather low, BUT that's considered not safe enough, period. It should be used only in the wars or real bad criminals etc, not proper method for the police to use in the general public whenever they think it's necessary to use. (my opinion) Not only that but they're liable to be sued so that is another issue.

why would you strip every tool that would be helpful for police officer to deal with violent offenders? You strip away cop's gun, baton, and now taser. and you expect him to risk his life for you with just his bare hands???

You do know that they are not constitutionally obligated to help you if dialed 911. We pay them to protect us from thugs and I believe it is our duty as a taxpayer and citizen to provide them with appropriate tools for most scenarios. They are the one who are risking their necks for us. The only thing we need for this is to create policy regarding taser and retrain them on the use of taser.

It would be a concern if teenagers/children doesn't know if they have a hidden heart condition that is undiagnosed. I wouldn't allow cop to show/teach my own *future* children like this.
 
You know, a taser is not a toy. It is a deadly weapon. It can and does kill. Would you allow a cop to shoot your child so they would know how it felt? If not, then why would you approve of a cop sending an electric charge through your child's body?:shock: Or beating them with a baton so they could experience what it felt like? Absurd!!!

Why stop with the taser? While we're at it, lets just hold all their little heads under water until they pass out so they know what it feels like to drown. (I'm being sarcastic.)

*nodding agreement* I was appalled when I saw the video by coincidence at websites. It teachs children/teenagers okay to use real weapons to hurt others for the fun.

Well, it's adult choice for try out of curiousity but children/teenagers? It's irresponsiblity of Police Officer to allow the children/teenagers to try for the fun.

It's unarmed people, I am referring to. It's not self-defense to use weapons on unarmed people including unarmed pregnant women, children, teenager, senior,etc.

it happens. should we just ban anything based on a few bad eggs out of many? chance is pretty small when you encounter "unarmed people" that requires tazing like pregnant women, and senior. Unarmed or armed... they still can pose a danger to themselves, to others, and to officers. Point is - how do you defuse the situation SAFELY and QUICKLY without escalating to violence?

About children/teenager - I support the use of taser on them (with reduced voltage, of course). If they're using taser on them - it's for reason - they are being danger to themselves, others, and the officers. Also - it's for their own safety.

How do you detain an uncontrollable child? Should officer hits him w/ a baton? slap him around? What if he bites officer? What if he's HIV-positive? He could be injured while being arrested - broken arm, neck, etc. (Remember a black teen girl who resisted arrest and broke her arm while being handcuffed?) I don't know which one is more traumatizing and what you prefer - getting a broken arm or a jolt (assuming you're resisting arrest and being difficult) :dunno: I, of course, prefer the latter.
