Hacker or Virus Emails????

Someone told me that. He warned me about not open the file from my friend's send me email. Because it's virus or hacker. He didn't like the email with url. He thought it's virus or hacker. The Hacker and Virus can steal the account and info at email. :confused: He didn't want me to open the file or url at email. I told him. I never open the file. It only my friends send me of news link through online. If i saw the url. I have to copy and paste on google to see if it's true or not. My friends always send me junk emails from AOL. I don't have aol account. I never open the file or url. I am using hotmail and Gmail that all. I don't use yahoo that much. Do you believe if someone send an email with link it cause virus or hacker on your email's account and info?? I am so :confused:

He didn't want me to send him a link or url at email from internet. I can send him through IM not email. Huh?? It does happen to you? :hmm:
 
It happens all the time. I get spam from people with links to virus. I also get IMs from people with links to virus too.

Some people are so gullible that they will click on ANYTHING that someone sends them. Seriously, they need to use some common sense when dealing with these things... :roll:

For instance, all of my friends will IM me with something like... "Hey, what's up? How are you?"

They will NOT say something like... "spring break pictures! click here!"

Seriously, is that how you greet your friends? No way! That's a big sign that something is wrong. :nono:
 
That what he warned me. I do use my common sense yeah. But I am not sure about everyone else with experience. That's why he didn't like to open the file from email. I want to make sure the same common and opinion. I will know. I never check my email from people's news and links. I always delete on them all the times.

I can't believe that my step dad has 700 over unread emails. geez!
