Emergency Medical Bracelet?

Once, I saw my ex boyfriend have two bracelets, one for allergy and one for seizure. It's very interesting to seeing that. Also one of my clients had a necklace almost like bracelet. But it tells that she's deaf, legally blind, austic and have allergy. It does help people if she gets lost in somewhere since she don't communcation very well.

i never had one bracelets of sezuires but i never tell doctor about that get bracelets for sezuire.Because im major sezuire
 
I have a Medic-Alert bracelet which informs medical personnel of the fact that I have bilateral CIs, am deaf (in case my processors are lost in a car accident), blind and cannot have MRIs (due to my CIs).

Deafness is still a concern. If you get into an accident and you are rushed to the hospital, it is good for them to see that you are deaf so they can get an interpreter for you at the hospital.

They're not supposed to provide an interpreter unless you make a request for it.

If you were in an accident and were sent to the hospital, they would likely realize that you're deaf based on your responses.

I was rushed to the hospital once (I collapsed at a supermarket), and they immediately called for an interpreter without me even asking/requesting for one.

That would be nice if it were so, but unfortunately in the past, deaf people have often been mistaken for being drunk, being high, being in a psychotic state, or of having sustained a severe head injury in the accident.
 
After reading all this I now have a new medical information bracelet on the way.

I found at Ebay you can buy Italian charms that link together. They can make a bracelet that isn't boring and ugly.

I found hearing impaired charm. Also lots of antibiotic allergy warnings. Asthma, and other medical conditions.

I bought the ones that apply to me plus dragon charms to make it long enough. I think it will be fun enough that I am likely to wear it every day.

There were lots of these at a cost of usually $1.49 per charm. :)

I wear a medical ID. I bought it from Medical ID Bracelets and Medical Alert Jewelry from N-Style ID

I think they do look pretty fashionable, not at all like 'traditional' ID bracelets.

Also, for deaf people re: wearing a medical ID even if you don't have any medical conditions: even if the "deaf" part on your ID means nothing because you end up with a good emergency team who realize that you're deaf in time, the rest of your ID can make all the difference- namely, having your name and the contact information for a loved one.

There's no reason not to wear one, but there's every good reason to.
 
My husband has one because he has a pacemaker and
takes coumadin (blood thinner) so it is listed on his
Medical ID bracelet.
He ordered one online and it turned out to be a real
crappy one cuz it is cheap and poorly made! He was
so disgusted with it so he sent it back.
So therefore, he went to a jewelry shop and they have
some very nice ones and of course they are expensive
but you get what you pay for, really. He had one made
with his name on front and on the back it listed his
conditions and medicine.
Well, i think it is a very good idea if all deaf have one of
those bracelets just to let the EMTs know that you are
deaf cuz a lot of times they ask you a bunch of questions
that you may not understand. I might consider getting me
one..heh.

Where did he order it from? Usually, they cost a lot of money because of the quality and the "seal" that certifies that it's authentic.
 
I don't wear one because I don't have any medical conditions. But, I've seen a woman who had one that says "Pregnant".

Eh? That reminds me of a "Dear Editor" article about this woman who didn't even know she was pregnant. Her boyfriend's mother thought she was pregnant, but she denied it and her boyfriend believed her. They were both surprised when she went in labor. :roll:

My hubby ordered it from American Medical ID when he found
the pamphlet at the dr. office but gotta warn you..it is
a decieving advertisment cuz it is nothing but cheap crap!
The bracelet was so cheap looking like it was from a toy
shop! poor quality stuff, really.

Yeah, it is strange! Why put "pregnant" on your bracelet since
it is a temporary condition? Women are pregnant for 9 months,
ya know? so really, it is silly.
