What's your experience like at the airport?

I dropped off my mom's friend at the airport last week. Anyway, my experience with airport. I don't like do things at the airport. but at the airport UGH! like parking, shuttle, carrying bags, check in, waiting in line, sitting, waiting again, pick up baggage claim.
also bleep bleep alarm because of my hearing aid which I did took off and they checked me from head to toe and took off shoes. What's your experience like at the airport?

Some people don't like that at airport. Do you?.

EDIT: I'm here to talk about stresses at the airport such as lost & found, ticket agency, delay due to bad weather, etc.

I fly a lot and getting use it.... *shrug*

Everything is prepared few days before leave home for airport then is less stress... I like to walk around and nose to any airport shopping.... after everything check on me and my cases... Yes, they have right to check to make sure due terrorist reasons.

Yes, I know and you're right for terrorist reasons. I wish it hadn't happened on 9/11. Oh, well. (sigh). I'm curious, are you still worry about terriorst at the airport?.

Some people got anxiety at the airport because of 9/11. Things got better now than back on 9/11.

I'm not talking about terrorist attack. I'm talking about people who are stresses at the airport. you know delay and tickets, lost and found, argue with ticket agency, etc. I've seen some people having problems at the airport. like for example, my friend who lost her luggage then few weeks later, they called and found her luggage which is lucky.
 
Have been on the plane several times and doesn't like it. Two reason, bored and too much security.. I get on plane just because it's faster and easier to ride..

I've flown on plane several times and we all have to get used to tightened security. Of course there is hassle to travel on air, most of the luggages have wheels so you can pull it as you walk makes it easier than carry it. If someone obey and follow the prohibited items posted in TSA the faster they pass through security checkpoint and saves everyone's time.

Traveling is always a big headache and stressful. Delays, stranded, overcrowded planes, you name it. Same goes for railroad travel, and by road. The more you plan ahead, the more you prepare, saves you time and less stress.

About the luggage, there's always a problem with lost luggages at the airport. The best you can do is always put identification tag on the luggage AND another identification inside the luggage in case the tag gets lost. Its for the own protection and better chance to get luggage back. Often, the luggage handlers mix them up with different planes or missed loading in the plane. I always put clothes and some shower soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving gels, deodorants etc to put in luggage. Since they're low values so I put them in check in. High values - cameras, laptop, dvd's I take them with me to carry on in the plane. The less I worry to get it lost or stolen.

Have no problems flying, I go by a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) mindset. I don't mind security, they are especially respectful about my CI, although no program has ever been messed up within the processor. Tight security is what we trade for a safer flight experience. I use a carry on and only one suitcase, I will ship the rest of my stuff as necessary. The only thing hilarious is overweight people complaining they can't fit in their seats. One, there is only so much room in an aircraft for so many sears, and two, you want the extra space, pay up! LOL

airports in USA suck big time. government (FDA) needs to step in and regulates more. The delaying, shoddy customer service, etc.... it's insane.

The better everyone packs and dress right, the faster the security lines will move; Before going through the security screening process at the checkpoint; I know not to wear jewelry or anything that involves metal. I dress simple, and keep it simple. I follow the TSA tips. ;)

I remembered that one time the alarm went off on me going through screening process at the checkpoint; I didn't understand why, because I wasn't carrying anything metal on me, then the security did a hand-wand inspection, and it was beeping near my breasts. I was like :ugh: What's going on with those breasts, without realizing that I was actually wearing an under-wire bra. :Oops:
 
I am used to it...I've flew many many many times....and I still will buy plane tickets as long as it is a good price. Last time I flew was in 2006. Planes are quicker to get there from East to West! :lol: I wouldn't mind trains, more fun to see the view but it can be sooo boring...BUT NO NO NO NO NO bus!
 
I like to travel especially with airplane, you don't have to travel in car long ways. Airplane is sorta a shortcut.

I hate riding on planes, mostly because I'm a borderline germaphobic. I worry about who's been sitting in the seat before me (I do wipe down the seats with Clorox wipes). Maybe I should marry Monk. And I hate sitting so close to strangers.

The worst airport story I have was when I was child. My mother flew all five of us girls alone to Germany (moving from Texas, I think). They lost our entire luggage. :(

Airports suck, especially during the holidays. But I do love to sit and watch people and wonder about what they are doing, where they are going, and how often they fly. I used to sit at an airport for many of my creative writing assignments when I was in college. Airports are great places to inspire writing. :)
 
My husband and I took my mom and stepdad go to International Airport go to Florida for their vacation last week on Fourth of July. When my stepdad removed the belt, shoes, watches put in bowl to scan. He walked through the body scan. The security heard the beep in his body. They checked on his metal bone in his hip with joint replacement. He had a surgery on his hip for replacement new joint last 2 years ago. It still alarm because of metal inside his body. He was so embarrassing. Everyone looked at him. We were laughing.

The people do have metal in their body like bones, joints, brace and cochlear implant and other. I think it's stupid to check on their bodies if they have a weapons. Geez!

My next-door neighbour got married and they flew to LA/Alaska for honeymoon last August. Her luggage went missing so she had to wear her (tall) hubby's baggy clothes everywhere for 2 days, even to a restaurant. The luggage was later found.

Hubby & I always have 2 changes of spare clothes in our overnight bags for just in case, also I pack some of my clothes in hubby's luggage and some of his in mine. That way we're covered. :)
 
For me, it depends on the airport that I go to.

From my experience, most airports allow passengers to go from terminal to terminal without having to go through security checkpoints. However, there was one airport that had this and I ended up having to repack my carry-on bags because they didn't know how to repack it themselves. (I had a Xbox, a few DVDs, and a couple hats.)

One airport had a guy who was a prick when it came to checking my back. He started talking to me in an unclear manner and I couldn't understand him. When I asked him to repeat, he was like... "What part of 'Can I check your bag?' do you not understand?" When another co-worker pointed out that I was deaf, he was like... "Oh, why didn't you say so!?" then checked my back. He didn't even handle it properly. That was only once when this happened.
