too old to go to college?

I am 55 years old and Still goes College. Never too late !
 
Never too old! I got my bachelor's at the usual age, then got my associate's in interpreting when I was 30, and three years later I went for my master's. I will probably go for a doctorate in my 40s. Education has no age limit!
 
I have attended two colleges years ago. Now I am back in College for the third year at the age of 62 years old to try to complete my general studies plus Computer Lab training in hoping to get a job in wordprocessing or as a clerk assistant. I would like to do office work. My father who was 80 years old at the time attended the university in Minneapolis, Minnesota to study about seniors (there was a word that I could not spell or not know what the word is). He loves education. He passed away five years ago at the age of 90 years old. Both my father and mother loves education very much. My sister and I love going to college too. So it is never too old if one considers going back to college again. The thing is that it is never too old or too late for learning because you learn every day of your life until you die. Learning is a big thing for all of us, even native people. Just go for it whatever you got for learning and having the talent to do it. ;)
 
Just like everyone else here on AD, never too old for college! My aunt got her Ph.D. when she was was in her 50s. Anything is possible if you set you mind to it. Even when I graduated with masters, I still went on to college for additional training and even for lifelong learning. I love pursuing something different and new with studies. I plan on going back to college someday either on campus or via online.

The strange thing is that it is the total opposite for me. I have no motivated to go to college now and I know I need to take classes to keep my certification good. I just dont want to do it anymore. When I was younger I was so motivated and serious about it. Now, I just want to slack off when I get off work.
 
In the class I took at RIT about gender and science, there was a grandmother in the class. I also saw a poster in the Color Science building about an old guy doing a graduate degree, a Ph.d in color science I think. He looked like he was over 50, in his 60s or 70s.

They are building new apartments at RIT near the boathouse for old RIT alums to live in and take classes.

RIT is making that decision of building apartments for the old alums. Interesting trend that they are taking.
 
nah late is better than never and plus i wont be surprise if 100 yrs old person go to college >.<
 
I've gone to school off and on since starting in 1982. I've always had piddle pay jobs, fortunately, I'm not married yet, as a wife would never tolerate piddle pay jobs.

I started back full time in 2002, skipped 2006-2007 school year (big mistake) and returned. I am graduating next May and am already thinking of grad school. One of my student loan lenders is ignoring the many letters I've sent and verification that I am in school. So far, I haven't paid a dime in repayment and will not pay until I have at least my BA degree. I'm sure we'll go to litigation on this, but I refuse to pay any loans now, especially when I can't find a job.

By the way, I have relatives that can't believe I'm still in school, not to mention that I have taken out thousands of dollars in loans for it. My parents have co-signed on loans, too, which at least one of them is trying to be in repayment. Unfortunately, they're in assisted living now (they weren't when I asked for help and they were both healthy) and I'm trying to find at least part time employment.
 
Like everyone else, we have some awesome older people at my college. They really add to the discussion such as life experiences we haven't had - marriage, adventure, jobs and so forth. They also add humor as some of them are more familier with pop culture than others and it shows. :) One guy was a police officer with a family and went back to college and had never done sports before and he joined the varsity swim team and swam at all the college meets. And he's still swimming for the team. It was awesome! So as everyone else says...go for it! People will think you are cool!
