Unoffical (SPECIAL) AllDeaf Meet - East Side

(Mods: Could you kindly please make this sticky until 31th January, 2010)

I understand it is a little bit early to announce but it would be a good idea for me to do it as given dates below would give you the time to see if you get the chance to arrange transport and accomdation and such if you are outside the New York State and whatnot.

This is is a special (unoffical) AD meet, where you get the opportunity to meet the international AD'er, from Australia, me - of course!

It would be on Saturday, 30th January 2010 in New York City. Location and time to be confirmed.

I would like to bring up a discussion for these AD'ers who would be keen to meet, and discuss which resturant we could go, what cruise we could have for dinner, and an opportunity for these AD'ers (if in the mood) to carry onto to clubbling or striking similar.

For myself, and the other AD'ers, I feel vietnamese cruisine would be nice but I would like to see some vote and suggestions in this discussion thread.

This is your opportunity to meet JClarke because he's coming to NYC!

Discuss away!

What happened to the 'safest city in U.S.A despite of the greatest NYPD army? Did they lost the title for the first time in years?

Yeah, whatever.

In whatever way the NYPD had improved or whatnot. Lets stick to the topic, yes? Unless I have to pay you up with a hefty fee, no??

For these people who prefer ASL over text = here it is.

Apologies for the lack of professionalism - just a little tired here.

Jclarke, NYC is a cool place. if you dont mind me asking Jiro's opinion about places. Jiro lives in NJ and been NYC a lot. so He may know a little more about that area than i do. I left NYC years ago.

Jiro , do you think sout seaport is a good place for everyone to meet each other? it's a warm place inside the buidling and beautiful atsophere and can view the ocean. Or another place that have enough room for many people to hang out? any thoughts?

If lots of aders are going there then i may consider about it but i will have to find a place to stay. I have relatives who lives in LI but not in NYC. umm maybe one of my cousin who lives in brooklym.

I will be staying at a local hotel in NYC (which I found one) for 5 nights, and would love to meet AD'ers in the east side, where it would be in NYC - I have discused with Jiro myself in regards of this, and it is a good opportunity for others here to discuss where and time in NYC. Just a Q, seaport, where's that?

I just had a look at the website, and it looks good. I had a good look at the distance between my hotel to the destination, it is about 10 mins drive, or one hour walk and I understand that seaport is near brookyln Bridge. I would't mind going there though if some of us agrees, this place would be ideal.

JClarke, you should take Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour. I had been there last few years ago. I was very interesting to visit both of them.

Great! You may contact National Park Service to require sign language interpreter for Statue of Liberty tour.

But they need your schedule to provide sign language interpreter. We will ask them if needing.

Allow me to email them and see what they can accommodate, I am more than happy to have ASL interpreter in any matter, it would be awesome.
