Damn! 34 people have cable? What the heck. :giggle:

Without cablemodem or DSL modem equals NO videophone! Anything slower than Cablemodem or DSL won't work well with VP Actually the minimum is ISDN which is 4 times faster than dialups.

Dial-ups = Slowest
Satellite dish (residential) = lil faster than dial up
ISDN 128k = faster than Satellite <---- barely minimum for VP
ISDN 256k = faster than ISDN 128k
Satellite dish (Business) = faster than ISDN 256k
DSL modem = faster than satellite (Business)
Cable Modem = either equal or faster than DSL modem
T-1 line about same download speed as Cable modem but faster upload speed.
T-3 line MUCH MUCH MUCH faster than T-1 line
T-1 II The fastest you could get (Limited to university and gov't research)

I'm using regular Optimum Online, not business. I don't know how I got those results but I feel they're incorrect. Does anyone know of a site that provides almost accurate speed results?

Did u use dslreports.com or a different site? The only best speed testing site is dslreports.com. :)

Yes, I used one of the test sites listed at DSLReports.com, particularly this one: http://nyc.speakeasy.net/ Try that and let me know if your speed is about the same or not.

The test on that site u gave me, was pretty slow, showed 453 down, 240 something down. I think the test is wrong. One of the test showed 1.5-2 mbps down with 240kbps upload, and even 2.5-3 mbps, since my therocial connection is 3mbps/256kbps under millenium digital cable.

Got a dsl.
