I learned that stopping to smell the roses is a very bad idea. A bee flew up my nose and stung me. Lesson learned!

Speaking of learning lessons, I learned my lesson to never pass a city truck doing wood work ever again. They were turning tree limbs into small pieces, and I just about got some in my eyes, and being on my bicycle, that wasn't smart. I'll make note if I see them around again.

that's the wrong idea of it.....what lesson? please do tell.....what you meant

i mean ..... its just an accident..... but on other hand...metaphorically.....you could be saying....that in the technology-reliant, consumption-obsessed , materialism-driven society we will get stung by the 'bee' , that is a crash or someone will get hurt, like a car accident because we got too busy enjoying the luxury of automated-travel that we 'enjoy the scenery or change of scenery' too much that we were smelling roses for too long..... I suppose?

but stopping to smell the rose really means, to STOP being busy, RELAX and STOP appreciate the world, appreciate life in stillness.....that's the real meaning.....

I learned that there is a store that sells baskets similar to those that hold french fries and a hot dog, and I thought that was awesome. They have a bunch of those there.

I learned my doggie's trainer knows Cesar Milan the Dog Whisper guy.

to stay indoors when tail end of hurricane in town...poor buggers who got live in hurricane area must be awful

Today, I learned about a great free hearing aid app initiative.

Free Petralex, Window-based Apps Allow Hearing Impaired Individuals To Stay More Connected.

IT4YOU, is a medical technology company that specializes in designing products for the hearing impaired. In a new app initiative, the company is dedicated to making these hearing aids and mobile apps available to students, doctors offices, hearing aid professionals and anyone who is in need. The Window-based apps can be utilized by teachers within the school as a educational resource. IT4YOU would also like to release another app especially aimed at younger children.

The inspiration for the free hearing app program came from a real need found in schools that don't have the funding to provide such invaluable technology. The Petralex apps can be used in almost any school and at all grade levels. The free solution can be used on any mobile or desktop platform.

Why is a hearing aid mobile app able to make a great difference in the life of a young adult or child?

“It allows for easier communication for the hearing impaired patient. They can stay informed about with their family or school instantly,” says Roo Khan, Director of IT4YOU.

What makes Petralex so special. Well, most hearing aids are only meant to help compensate for hearing impairments. A hearing aid that is more complex or offers multiple functions can be costly and require a qualified individual to configure the device, and further provide additional maintenance. Plus, a normal hearing aid uses sound processing algorithms that limit the types of use the individual patient might need.

Petralex app takes the work out of configuring. No audio grams are needed, or trained professionals to preform special tone adjustments. The Petralex app provides total hearing aid functionality, giving the user the benefits of a high-end hearing aid, but for a fraction of the cost. It's comfortable enough to use everyday.

App configuration is easy for most any user, with no additional equipment necessary for tuning. Petralex is easily interfaced with any Android phone or tablet device. It works on the same principals as any other wearable hearing aid. It can be auto-adjusted to fit the individual's hearing profile, completely invisible, and can be worn with a regular headset. It's powerful enough to run Android 4.1 or higher, and a user-friendly interface allows for quick profile selections, which provides maximum sound quality.

The main benefits of using Petralex are; easy set-up, needs no additional attachments, environmental noises not a factor; no battery replacements; offers a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz, great sound quality; easy to alternate between headset and device microphones; Dropbox storage allows for easy profile sync for all Android powered devices; no specialist needed to adjust or setup.

Other Petrlex products on the market include: OS, Petralex Hearing Aid, iOS, General Hearing Aid, Petralex Hearing Aid Android, General Hearing Aid and Petralex Radio just to name a few. More products are soon to be released.

To obtain more information about the Petralex hearing aid app initiative, please either contact Roo Khan at roo@itforyou.pro or call +44 161 350 0721. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Some new landscaping tricks from watching Yard Crashers.

I learned that there is a bicycle seminar going on at the beach. I saw ALL kinds of bicycles there. Mind you, navigating that wasn't easy, given its location.

I learned that I need to watch my footing better, especially when I'm near a multi-lane street. That area where I took that one picture on Foster I need to be more careful with.

I learned that despite people being careful, they still make an OOPS mistake. I found out that someone accidentally paid my medical bill, and they told me it wasn't supposed to happen, and I told the person that I'm responsible for my bills, and my recent medical bill I got a few days ago wasn't adding up, and now I know why.

How would somebody else "accidentally" pay YOUR medical bill?
Did they get into your postal mail and not bother reading or logged into the bill paying site?

First I've heard of somebody accidentally paying off somebody else's bill. I've gotten a medical bill that wasn't mine even though it had my name /address on it (it was obvious- it was a second bill for a gall bladder removal. as far as I know humans only have one of those and mine had been removed the month before lol).

It was mailed to Thresholds, even though it's not supposed to be. Thing is, the person who's responsible for certain people's money (yes, some people are unable to handle their own money) told me that she was paying the bills, and failed to realize that my bill was supposed to be directed to me, but she accidentally paid for it, so now I gotta pay it back (the amount is really low).

My daughter and son in law "accidentally" payed someone else's car payment more than one time when the person gave banking numbers that corresponded to my daughter's account instead of their own.

They got their money back, but it did happen more than one time.

It's not that difficult to imagine it with modern set ups for paying bills.

Of course it could happen in the way it happened to Mark also.

It's only the medical bill. They have someone new at the pharmacy where it comes from, and I've asked them more than once to mail the bill directly here, but they're still not doing it monthly like they're supposed to. Hopefully this mistake will fix that, and I should see my bills more regularly..... I hope.

I just learned there is more bridge artwork I wasn't aware of. I'll check those out soon, as it's over near the Red/Purple Line Express tracks. I want to see what they have.

That Morse Ave between Ashland and Glenwood will be closed this weekend due to a local festival. They're setting up now.
