Mitt Romney said He is Not Concerned about the Poors!

Yup, most republicans don't care about poor.

Just because somebody doesn't think government dependency is a good thing does not mean they don't care about the poor.

Some people have different ideas about the best way to help people who need help. That doesn't make them evil or uncaring.

We can discuss red/blue states until we are blue in the face but that does nothing to solve the situations. As reported in WSJ.....1 in 7 receive food stamps...1 in 4 born into poverty. These two are totally related. While we can not regulate sex, we ned a president whom will go on national television and use his time to encourage families already living in poverty not to being another child to suffering. We ned leaders and that starts at the top.

I'm not picking on Obama because the Bushs and Clinton did nothing neither. All four guys are worthless to be/have been called president.

That's not what I was talking about.

Totally ridiculous statement.

Exactly!

both Republicans and Democrats do care about poor people but thing is - both has very different idea on handling it.

Typically - Republican way is to reduce federal oversight and regulation plus tax cuts to enable employers to hire hire hire. That's why Democrats painted them as greedy rich people exploiting poor people for their financial gains.

Typically - Democrat way is to tax high to help poor people and expand social welfare programs. That's why Republicans painted them as socialists.

Either way - both Republicans and Democrats are a bunch of buffoons who have never experienced poverty or financial hardships and they both do not care about poor people and middle class anyway

I noticed a contradiction in my post - the first and last sentences. comical but hey - that's politic. they're full of hypocrisy and contradiction. and lies. :cool2:

Actually if you had put "politicians" between "democrats" and "are" in the last sentence you would be pretty much spot on.

I live in a very politically active city and my students often ask what certain debates are about. I explain the economic philosophies of the two major parties much like someone above did: the Republican party believes in giving money to the large corporations, which makes them able to afford to hire more workers, which will put more money into society. The Democrat party believes in giving money to the regular people, which will allow them to afford to shop, creating a greater demand for companies to hire more workers.

I tend to buy the latter, since if I owned a business I would probably only hire workers if I actually needed them, not just because I had enough money to do so.

I think part of our problem as a whole is actually the Internet. We all know Fox news slants right and MSNBC slants left. And statistics can be slanted of course, to say anything. The problem starts when our info comes from some guy blogging from his basement. Who knows if this guy knows anything or if he is just making stuff up? I work part-time for a company that has been a target of negative blogging and things they said are flat out untrue. When it comes to politics, I think we really need to have our BS meters turned on, and take everything on both sides with a grain of salt.

Are you referring to elected officials only, or to all Republicans and Democrats?

*word of the day

Giving money?

Please clarify:

Other than bail outs, what moneys are given to large corporations?

What money is given to "regular people" that enables them to create a greater demand for consumer goods?

How much tax has the largest corporations paid? Zip. Zilch. I think that is what she is referring to.

But that doesn't mean that the government GAVE money to them. It just means they didn't take away their money.

Two completely different concepts, gosh!
