Death of Deaf clubs

Born and raised in MN. Mainstreamed all my life with the exception of preschool where I learned ASL and speech.

That's cool and now you (looking at your avatar) live on a farm or in a town in farmland? :P

I still live in the metropolitan area. I'm about 15 minutes outside downtown, so definitely not farmland. :) I'm just an admittedly huge fan of playing FarmVille on Facebook (that likely is not my proudest admission)

I take it, you don't socialize online?

i was filling up EPROMS, downloading from ROM cartridges long before you were born, also lanned alot in the Battlefield1942, Battlefield2 hey day.

Now, i just got bored, and no i just prefer to balance with real life so i socialise in real life :)
i come and go, visit AD when i like to, not when i have to satisfy the addiction

I believe the decrease in "deaf clubs" is the direct result of deaf person receiving Cochlear Implants. This was discussed in Michael Chorost's book "Rebuilt" Though I am "ORAL"deaf with an Implant for the last 3 years I have never been to a "deaf club" here in Toronto.I just continued going to "singles dances" after being implanted as I did before becoming deaf in Dec/06.Then I was in "profound loss classification" over 20 years.

Advanced Bionics Harmony activated Aug/07
