Is your hearing with your CI good enough to speak on the phone?

Hi everyone! Is your hearing with your CI good enough to speak on the phone? For me, at first wasn't easy, I couldn't understand a single word... But with lots of pacience and practice now I can hear every single word from the other person when I'm on the phone. I'm N5 CI user.

How the CI brings you closer to people in a world full of sounds?

It was hard for me to communicate with people when I was waiting for my CI activation... Because I didn't know ASL and I was getting used to my condition of being deaf. Of course the CI has so many benefits and my hearing it's not like it used to be, but it's awesome that I can hear again.

    I'm Getting a CI!!!

    I'm Getting a CI!!!

No, of course you don't have to get a CI to participate in the thread. The thing is deaf people who have CI (like me) can easily understand the point of view of another CI user than a person who doesn't have it....

Service dogs for CI users and deaf people

I understand were you coming from, ok? But I assure you there are people who has hearing dogs and don't feel inferior at all. For me, it's a state of mind. For example I'm deaf and my husband is in a wheelchair; he was shot in an attempt of robbery and that circumstance let him paraplegic he...

Service dogs for CI users and deaf people

I don't consider myself disabled, but the reality for me is I can't hear without my CI... And I'm fine with my condition of being deaf. It's really great that you're an independent person and don't need any service dog or a visual alarm system and I respect you for that. Nobody's telling you...
