Well, seriously separated and living the single life since August. Anyone from MD or PA? Looking to make some friends that I can relate to and vice versa.

    CI Teaser Activation

I didn't get permanently activated yet. They only did a pre activation which was a test to make sure my auditory nerve was active and working with the implant electrodes. When my AuD turned on the voice, it was a bonus, not part of the test. It didn't sound normal due to not having it mapped and...

i'll take the backpack. It will drive me nuts to death if there was a pebble in both of my shoes. And I think for sure you will get a great cardio work out with walking the steps to the top. Good for health and heart.

Jess, you described it right, like a bass drum IN the head. lol. I'm also aware that the more i wear the CI, the faster and easier my brain will process each and most of the noise. I could hear well with a HA for about 38 years until i lost it back in oct. I'm expecting good activation due to...

    avatar problem..wth

I tried to change my avatar picture twice to a newer and better racing picture of me in action. It will not change. I do have the pic resized properly and in my user CP, the new pic is there where you change the avatar, but it's still the old pic in my newest replies or posts. What am I doing...

Cheapest way to replace a Nucleus 5

Exactly what I was thinking. It can be fixed for way less than 8K or the extended warranty covers it if recovered from the lake. If worse comes to worse, hire a professional scuba diver to search the lake bottom where she fell in.

    Got implanted July 2nd

Kendi, Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. My surgeon was Dr. Artz. He did a great job, was courteous and professional from day one. Even came down to waiting room to apologize to my wife for taking so long due to my ear anatomy being "smaller" than normal.

    Got implanted July 2nd

All went well with my surgery to get implanted with a CI on Tuesday July 2nd. Most of my tinnitus I had all of my life is gone except for an occassional blow dryer noise that comes and goes. The pain from the surgery isn't to bad and don't need the pain meds. I did lose my taste but it is slowly...
