No worries ;) I know that you all guys are curious what AUSLAN is like :D

I am going to make some more VLOGs soon - but I am curious, as rest_less heart has posted what she would like to see in AUSLAN in the wrong thread.... so any one else who is interested to see some new signs?

Excellent! AUSLAN between ASL are different.

I apolgize for the delay as I have been busy from the last few days, here is my first VLOG as an introduction of myself in two languages. Please post what you think? I, also, would like to hear some ideas/suggestions for the next VLOG on Australian Sign Language - like any signs you want to see.

VLOG

Enjoy! :D

Thanks, jclarke! That was awesome. I'm glad you did ASL first so I could compare, because some of the signs in AUSLAN, I would have read differently based on ASL. Would you mind if I shared this with our Deaf ASL instructor at my college? I think she would be very interested inthe differences.

Of course, you are more than welcome to show to the ASL instructor... I am actually a AUSLAN teacher down here.. and I have known ASL for 8 years, just average of it, but I am re learning it again, as I have been on and off since. But I am very glad that you all have enjoyed the videos. And jillio, please let me know what your instructor think of the AUSLAN signs, and anything else you and the instructor want to ask - feel free to PM me anytime! :)

Great! I will show it to her tomorrow, and let you know what she thought.

UPDATE: More Vlogs!

Alriiiiiiight, I have updated two more vlogs, BUT they are meant to be together, so the first VLOG (VLOG#3) is in ASL and when you finish watching VLOG #3 continue watching the second one (VLOG#4) which the 4 things is translated in AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language)

VLOG #3

Then

VLOG #4

Enjoy!

(If you want to know more AUSLAN signs, just help yourself and post your ideas or whatever you like to say here!)

I just finished showing your blogs to our Deaf ASL instructor. She loved them! She thinks it is such a great idea that you have to open up the world of communication across continents like that, and said she truly admires what you are doing. She looks forward to more demonstrations, and said to thank you for being such a wonderful ambassador for the deaf communities.

These are great! Wonderful to see the comparison between ASL and AUSLAN. I love the sign for BORN with the "head" pushing through; it's so graphic compared to ASL.

Do you know whether the British Sign Language (BSL) and AUSLAN alphabet are the same? The few letters I know looked the same but I don't remember the BSL alphabet well enough to know the rest. I assume BSL had some influence on AUSLAN.

I would really love to learn a foreign sign language at some point.

It is a true pleasure of mine to show a lot of VLOGs on AUSLAN between ASL, and I tend to continue making videos for you all to enjoy! :D Thank you for such kind words for me as an ambassador for the deaf community of America and Australia.. I am truly honoured. :) Keep an eye on this thread for updates! I have updated the vlogs yesterday, but I believe you have watched them already ;)

Yes, Interpretrator - the alphabet in AUSLAN is pretty much the same as BSL, BSL has influenced some signs on AUSLAN, but remember, we have our own signs in AUSLAN. BUT Between ASL , BSL and AUSLAN - there are some signs which are the same, no matter what for. ;)

AUSLAN signs looked somewhat simliar to BSL signs. :)

jclarke, just wondering here. Did you and your parents visit DeafChat.com in the late 1990s and early 2000s? I have read your previous entries here, one was where you talked about going to Washington, DC when you were very young. The lady was telling some people in DeafChat that she was taking her son, about 12 at the time to visit Gallaudet in the early 2000s.

That's correct, that would be my mother, and she mentioned it in the deafchat in 1999 and I went to Washington D.C and visited the university! Which is Winter 1999 (February, 1999)

BUT let me assume something, is that you Brian Kelson??? The one who took me on a tour around gallaudet??

Now, time for another update! Here is my 5th Vlog - I am showing Family members signs in ASL into AUSLAN. Enjoy! :D

VLOG #5

Alright, ladies and gentlemen.... I am planning to make another VLOG while I am on holiday in Perth WA (West Australia) next week. I would like to know, just to add into the VLOG, what would you like to see in the AUSLAN language? I am leaving on Monday next week... and while I am filming, I wouldn't be able to put it up once I have returned, but only be able to come online and post as usual via my sidekick 3.

So if you have any curiousity about the AUSLAN Vlogs, please feel free to post up here. NOTE: for new members, who has not read this thread, I can sign ASL, so it is more easy for you guys to know what the signs you would be expecting in AUSLAN.

Look forward to your feedbacks. :D

Why don't you tell us about your holiday?
