Apple announces new iPhone 5 at live event!

I am glad that i have to wait...

I m too. Weird thing about wifi. I turned off 3G/LTE to use wifi when setup my password for wifi at my work building. Should get update 6.0.1. We may send compliant message to Apple support.

I already report. I'm sure several other send the similar issues.

Only that I understand if I use wi-fi too long then data won't work. Only for short time, it can switch from wi-fi to 3G/LTE without problem.

Yeah, You are not only the one.

For Verizon - I don't recommended you to turn LTE off, unless you don't mind to reboot iPhone to get LTE back on, because LTE will not automatically enabled after changed to CDMA until reboot.

Eh? The listing saying that iPhone 5 is too light? It seem heavy to me than iPod Touch (4th-gen).

Yeah...I was suprised reading that... we (our company) are expecting getting large quantity of iPhone 5 coming in soon... so I'll have to see it myself...

Do anyone have issues with iPhone 5 from Wi-fi to 3G/LTE? I couldn't get 3G/LTE work anymore after I'm not in wi-fi zone. I tried to turn airport ON for few second then turn off to get data work. NONE. I tried turn cell network OFF. NONE.

Last solution, I reboot and it works. WTF. I hope the bug will fix on next update.

Interesting... I agreed that Apple should tackle that issue - I don't want to leave LTE on all day or the battery will drain out before my lunch break!

LTE will not drain the battery if you left iPhone 5 in standby.

Apple CEO Tim Cook issues open letter apologizing for iOS Maps flaws.

To our customers,

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

Tim Cook
Apple’s CEO

Apple - A letter from Tim Cook on Maps
That letter seemed fishy in relation to the google maps... Tim Cook referred them to the google website, therefore I feel they didnt approve the google map stand alone app.. I have been waiting for that, lol as the apple in house map needs attention...

Rolling eyes... One person will plan to file a class-action lawsuit against Sprint over Pre-order iPhone 5? Sprint Community: Filing a class-action lawsuit. (Pre-order of iPhone 5).............Update: Sprint removed thread (too late, I copied and post it)

Filing a class-action lawsuit. (Pre-order of iPhone 5)

This is a thread that will discuss the many grievances Sprint has caused its loyal customers and a possible resolution because we are getting NOWHERE.

Many people (me included) that placed their orders on September 14th were promised delivery on the 21st. They paid a lot of money to Sprint to get their phone on that date (in my case, over $800).

A few days later, Sprint makes up this random "2:00pm" cut-off time at which you won't get it by the 21st. This was not mentioned at time of pre-order on the 14th. That alone is false advertising but let me continue.

Many people contacted Sprint via phone or live chat asking about their delivery date. Many of the reps said that delivery would still be on the 21st regardless of this cut-off time.

The 21st came and a lot of people still didn't have their phone or even their tracking number.

Many contacted sprint again and they said they would have it by Monday. Nothing.

People are starting to get stressed out over when they will get their phone and if they will even get it.

Tracking numbers are promised, but never received. Dates keep getting pushed back. Call-backs are never made when promised. Every rep gives a different story.

This falls under the category of "deceptive trade practices".

When you PRE-ORDERED your iPhone, you did so in order to get the phone before people got it when it became widely available in stores.

Not to mention that some people that pre-ordered AFTER the 14th (for example a friend ordered the SAME MODEL on the 15th and already got theirs) are getting their phones right now.

So why is it that those who pre-ordered are stuck (unable to cancel) and can't pick one of the many available in the store RIGHT NOW without spending extra money?

Because Sprint is a company full of liars and people who don't know what they are talking about. They had false advertisement, and misleading promises.

We are phoneless while those who didn't even preorder have their phones. A lot of us don't even have tracking numbers, which were promised WAY long ago.

I suggest that you get with your attorney and file a class-action lawsuit against the Sprint Corporation for false advertisement under deceptive trade practices and for wasting your time and holding your money, not allowing you to cancel, and you not having anything that was promised.

I only advise doing this if your phone does not arrive tomorrow as was triple promised to me and probably you. This is also only in reference to those who ordered on the 14th(even after 2:00pm) but before they put that you wouldn't get it if you ordered after that time(which was much later.)

Please discuss.

*Sprint if you remove this thread, I will file lawsuit. People have the right to know their options. Contact me with a solution if you want me to remove this post.

Native Google map app will be back on iOS 6 end of year if Apple approval. You can get Live Street View app (free with ad or paid) if you interest.

I never trust Sprint. One day AT&T or Verizon will buy Sprint.

I doubt because FCC will deny it and Sprint doesn't want to be bought.

Remember about AT&T tried to bought t-mobile but failed because of strong opposition from FCC.
