Nah, I like it this way better because Shakes was a fraud.

Oh god, you're not one of those Shakespeare truthers, are you?

Dave Powers is dead so how do we know this really happen? I know it very interesting that Mimi decided to come out with this book after everyone is dead. How convenient for Mimi.

Convenient? Possibly so. But then again consider the environment of the time 5,10, 20, 30 or 40 years after it supposedly happened should she published her account in that time period. Consider her own career perhaps her own life had she published her account too early. Maybe it did happen, maybe it didn't. But records show that JFK was a womanizer. So, it may not be far fetched on what she's reporting now.

So the real question is; are Democrats politically prone to commit sexual assaults? Is it due to their "logical brains" as was discussed before? Are Republicans less likely to commit these crimes due to their "emotional brains?"

Since is a known fact JFK was a womanizer it would be very easy for a woman to 'make up a story' like this for money. There is no alive to defense their self which made it very convenient to spice up the story to sell more books.

Maybe..maybe not. But it certainly does not look good knowing on possibly having a rapist in the White House.

Mimi Alfrod did not allege that JFK raped her. Nancy Snyderman did.

I feel the same way , I mean what was the point in writing this book so many years later. I wish Mimi had thought about JFK grandchildren before coming out with this book. Let the guy RIP

And apparently the OP thought this was good fodder. Worrying about a so-called rapist some 50 years after the so-called act? And all based on what some woman wrote? That nobody can refute now? Man ... I need bigger eyes to roll them with.

And this woman Mimi actually never accused him of rape. I did see her in a tv interview and she said herself she had nothing but good memories of JFK.

Lots of women have "good memories" of men who abused and yes, raped them. When "date rape" happens, women sometimes (often?) are reluctant to prosecute, as they don't know if they will be believed, or think that maybe they shared some responsibility, or think that if they didn't fight the guy and have no bruises, maybe it's not rape.

One thing the women's movement has been fighting for and educating about over the last half-century is to recognize sexual harassment, abuse, and rape. A huge imbalance of power makes it just as much "rape" as being held at gunpoint.

It's a sad story all around. I understand why she wanted to write about it now. She is in her late 60's, a time when people often look back on their lives, consolidate what they have learned, and deal with large questions from their younger years that are still troubling.

This rape/seduction/ affair, whatever you want to call it, obviously affected her in her first marriage, and was something that cast a shadow over much of her life. Good for her for getting her story written; it is part of our history as a country, and it's a psychological study of how a young girl was manipulated, and to some extent is still being manipulated, by the social and political power of a man who didn't hesitate to use that power over her.

You read her book?

It's about learning a whole different historical context about JFK as a presidential figure who held much power and sway with his womanizing days. So, you're agreeing that JFK is a rapist? Or that Mimi is lying? Again, a possibility that can go both ways.

With the way Mimi described in the beginning it had the all the nuance of a date rape that was being committed.

Dude, I understand what you are saying. However, men do not decide whether it is or not. Women, most importantly the one in question, decide. Understand?

The bold? Hell no. Hence my use of "so-called". Don't twist my posts to suit your own agenda.

The guy is dead , I see no needs to drag his name through mud after all there years! His wife saw her husband dies on her lap with his brain on her clothes!
Why can't people let them both R I P ! If anything I feel sorry for the grand kids
having people talk about JFK like this.
