Rape affects almost 20% of US women, study says

My partner saved a female victim from getting raped by 2 men in the city's alley at night about 10 years ago, I think.

I know we have had some serial rapists here in our area for a few months. My daughter is not allowed out after 5pm unless son or an adult is with her. She carries mace, flashlight and pocket-knife in her pockets. We lock our doors constantly and always call the neighbor before leaving the house to come over. It's gotten bad enough in the neighborhood that even though we have 7 officers living in the neighborhood, we are still have every 30 minute patrols go through 24/7/365.
 
I thought that a lot of rape was drug/alchohol induced? Also, a lot of it is due to "heh heh heh......a girl's just a notch on my belt" frat boy culture.......I thought that stranger rape was rare. Although I do know of a case where a girl was raped in a dentist's chair by some stranger.....VERY WEIRD!
 
Rape also affects the spouse/SO of the victim deeply.

Because I saw the report of false from few days ago before I read this thread, you believe it's rare, yes, there is about 6% report are false.

You just really annoy me right now. Look at this thread, discuss things that are actually related to it, not about pathological liars who are clearly caught... Sure there are some sickos out there who will claim that they were raped just to gain attention, but that shouldn't take your attention away from people who were actually raped.

What if a woman was actually raped and you think she's just lying? That's just plain cold. Don't EVER EVER EVER tell us that some of us deserved it. Don't let that news article affect your thinking.

Look, I already aware that rape is a HORRIBLE act. I'm just say that there are lacking EDUCATION that ladies, not their fault, need a courage with great support to make report. It will make best for women to live a better.

I felt that you're assuming the bad on me when I make make something that you thought I mean something and got wrong with me. I still think rape is BAD. I have friends who have their sad sorry-ass story that I do feel sympathy for them. And yet, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why they don't even report. That's why I'm bring up on being angry to education system that doesn't make them being strong and make men to think twice to not mess up with ladies.

I'm sorry but I felt hurt that you people accuse me being sick.
 
There are high chance that daughter without father, get rape. It make me think that reason why boy are fear to face their dating's father who is tough.

I know quite a few girls, ladies and women who were raised by their mothers and grandmothers. No men at all. All of them knew how to protect themselves when out in public.

A rapist, whether raping females or males, will choose who they want to attack. A lot of times, no amount of instruction from parent or guardian can keep them 99% safe from rape. Yes, they do have a chance of fighting back, but so many times, it's the ones who fight back that face possible murder or at the least, a beating other than the rape.

In the course I took quite a while back, they say, protect yourself as much as possible, but, if it gets too far, then do not fight back. Do what you can to save your life and get all the evidence you can for the police.
 
women can still strong person and knowing how defend herself without father. my friend father die when she baby. and her mother forcing her take martial art class for protection herself. see my point? women always capable fight back. its not about she have father or not. rapist attacking any woman not matter if she have father or not.
