Really? I thought it was the Americans that helped China. And, if you think about it, France, England, Russia and the Philippians to name a few.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if there were many protests the world didn't know about due to media blackouts. It's no secret your everyday iranian is not happy with the current government, and I am sure there are many attempts to have an "Arab Spring" in Iran.

I'm not arguing that there is not moderate Zionist, I'm only saying that to support Israel is to be a Zionist. Nobody has been quoted that they are a Zionist who doesn't support Israel as a state. They are just saying they are against the violence. They are not saying lets dissolve Israel and thus give up our country so we can have peace. So, what's your point?

You are very confused........ You don't become a Zionist for simply supporting Israel. There are many Jews and Israelis who support Israel but not Zionists.
 
Eh, there's no clear definition for Zionist really. It really is whatever a person self identifies as. The "Bundist" socialists in the early 1900's were self identified zionists, but today they support israel, but do not call themselves zionists.

To acknowledge and accept Israel's existence does not make you zionist. What does make you zionist, is if you believe in a Jewish State/Homeland (although you can argue that the specific of Territory of Israel is not conditional for this).

to me - Zionist is a hardliner type. the one with extremist view.
 
OK, I'd like to know the definition because this is how I understand it:

Zionism (Hebrew: ציונות‎, Tsiyonut) is a Jewish political movement that, in its broadest sense, has supported the self-determination of the Jewish people in a sovereign Jewish national homeland. (for those that don't know that would be Israel)

From the Jewish Virtual Library:
Zionism, the national movement for the return of the Jewish people to their homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel

From the free dictionary:
A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

From the Zionism Month Web:
Zionism as ideology - Zionist ideology holds that the Jews are a people or nation like any other, and should gather together in a single homeland.

From Websters Dictionary:
an international movement originally for the establishment of a Jewish national or religious community in Palestine and later for the support of modern Israel

If you know of another definition which does not associate Zionism with a Jewish State in Palestine, I'd love to hear it.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, it's not different than any other group of people wanting their own country, but I don't see how you can separate it from Zionism as they are the same thing as far as I can tell.

Oh, and you might want to call all these sources and tell them that they are wrong.
