Yeah, they were right there. Everywhere!

desperate times......desperate measures.

Too bad the Feds decided to spend on turtle bridges and robotic bees rather than doing their job and securing the border leaving states to fend for themselves. Now that is the real shame when it comes to tax revenue expenditures.

That was an obama thing too.... :)

um..... why don't we take budget out from NSF, Education, NASA, Financial Aids, budget for federal employees' salaries and military, Medicare, etc just to pay for Arizona's stupidity?

Mexican Drug Cartels now control parts of Arizona

Pinal County Sheriff: Mexican drug cartels now control parts of Arizona

Pinal County investigators say an area known as the smuggling corridor now stretches from Mexico's border to metro Phoenix.

Would this growing drug cartel problem be a direct result of the Feds not doing their job?

I would say so. If they are "controlling" southern Arizona I'd say it's an attempt on taking over a part of the U.S. The U.S. needs to declare a national emergency on that border, and quickly get some serious control of our border. The longer Obama ignores this the more likely he doesn't care about our nation's border and national security.

Pretty much paranoid for real.

He has already displayed this characteristic by suing a State that chose to uphold federal laws at the State level.

He even bad mouthed the State to the whole Nation as well as foreign countries.

I want to see him challenge this law ..... he is going to fail ... and when he does, you will see similar laws passed around the country.

Perhaps if Arizona allocated its funds and resource to its internal drug problem instead of attempt to pass immigration law - they would not lose its part to drug cartels.

Drug Crime in Arizona is a state matter.

The drugs smuggled in from south of the border is a Federal Problem that has become a state matter due to lack of Federal enforcement.

the buyers and dealers are the American citizens. it's the state issue. focus on preventing Americans from fueling the international drug wars which is making federal's job harder.

the state is the one who have their own drug statute.
the state is the one who imprison them.
the state is free to enforce it however they want.
the state is free to slacken its drug enforcement and punishment on certain drug.

Blaming feds or Mexican drug cartels for it? real weak right there. It didn't begin with the feds. It began with the American citizens who want it.

Or just have them do there job. No reason to be ridiculous. :)

:laugh2: Sorry but smuggling drugs accross an international border is not a "state issue".

And the drug war is only difficult because the attempts have been half-assed. Throw the hammer down and see what happens. :)

TXGolfer, I am just a simple guy so I need to ask: Why are the Feds suing AZ for trying to shore up what is clearly the Fed's role? What's the Fed's real raison de etre/motivation for suing?

So they don't have to do their job in the first place. Musn't upset potential illegal aliens when their votes are needed for the 2012 election after they've been granted amnesty. Anything to make it look like the Feds on the illegal aliens' side. It all points to 2012, imo.

Are you being unpatriotic there? Sounds like you're dismissing our hard-working Border Patrol agents

I see America as generous, giving, and supportive country whose hundreds of thousands of lives of soldiers were expended to defend other countries, and the billions if not trillion of dollars were donated and spent to help others in need by ordinary U.S. citizens.

:dunno:

I agreed with AZ. Deaf people should support it because the majority of fast food workers cannot read English. Under the ADA, we have rights to accessible communications. Fox News and even Salon and MSNBC reported that Mexico has a law that all anyone wanting to be a Mexican citizen is REQUIRED to know Spanish.....
