LONDON (Reuters) -- Nearly one in 10 Britons admit to dumping their partner by cell phone text message rather than breaking the news face-to-face, according to a survey.

While a third of those polled said they had had an argument by text, nearly half admitted flirting by cell phone message.

Of the 771 Britons aged over 15 polled by market research firm NOP for Swiss software company Sicap, 38 percent confessed to reading their partner's private messages.

:| ~ I admit it, I did dumped on lady thru instant message.

I reckon it's a pathetic and thoughtless way of breaking off a relationship. That does cause rifts between the two parties and I feel that'd make a lasting and negative effect on both parties for the near future.
I prefer if a break up was a must - then do it in person, face to face. Despite how painful it can be, but it's better that way than via SMS. :squint: (remmy, that's only IMO)
