Whenever I encounter fools who think it's hilarious to fake-sign, I just roll my eyes and walk away. Sometimes I will say, "You realize you're not saying anything and you're just making yourself look stupid, right?", and they just obviously swallow and then walk away. :)

I use option B. it's quite hard to describe how others signed strawberry, because I don't really remember exactly how to describe it.

I do this quite often, it's just a normal thing for me to do... Sometimes I'll get someone that knows sign, or sometimes I'll get, "oh, thats so cool, I'd like to learn sign". Often than not, I just get a nod of understanding or just silence. No big deal to me.

Yeah, but this man doesn't use a TTY because of his very very limited understanding of written English. I didn't say nobody uses a TTY, just many people don't, nowadays. :)
