You Sir Are A Bigot

The rest of this thread reads completely opposite of the thread on the Mosque being built near ground zero. All the players are now saying the opposite things here that they said in the Mosque thread. Could it be related to the fact that a large number of Muslims are not white? And that a large number of Mormons are white?

Really???......what exactly were we saying on the other subject???

Let me see....I was making fun of the dead; the Muslims would enact Sharia Law, and many more. I recall you were quite offended by a lampooning image. There were several others that filled the void after you left.

Does it matter? Muslim = bad. Mormon = good. That I read loud and clear here, not saying you in particular. Just finding it ironic that most of the same people that want the mosque built several miles away are the same people that defend this guy's stance.

I think that they should build the mosque :D Also think the burqua ban is outrageous.

Ah cartoons.....

Not really the same now is it. I don't think anyone on "my sides" disagrees that both the Imam and President Packer have a constitutional right to express their religous views. *shrug*

thinking of opening up a Coca Cola shop in Packer's town.... :dunno:

will ask my gay friends to help out... as waiters :dunno:

Ever seen the unemployment rate among the deaf??? Too bad you didn't think of them. :(

Actually, the same people that are blasting the LDS for their views on homosexuality are refusing to do the same for the Ground Zero Mosque.

Sounds similar to the KKK when they advocate lynchings and start burning crosses to intimidate other races. They consider themselves a religious group in a lot of ways. Should they be free to practice their brand of free speech? Never mind, they are already doing so. Is this a good thing?

Anyhow, I am glad I do not follow the Mormon philosophy. No card playing, no homosexuality, but have all the wives you can get hitched to. :eek3:

I agree with this statement. Supervisors have no business trying to garner support for pet causes. It reminds me of the boss selling Girl Scout cookies to his/her subordinates.

This (above) is a terrifying thought. A human speaking for God, and people believing it. This is why it took me over 50 years to become a Christian. I never trusted the human aspect of it. More Koolaid? Got your pocket full of quarters and your new Nikes on?

I disagree with the Muslim view on homosexuality, but the topic was not about their views, but about where they should build a mosque. Not really a good comparison between the topics. One topic discussed a building, the other topic discussed the attempt to instigate church members to chastise a group. I found it interesting that people are against Muslims building a mosque near WTC site yet endorse the speech this guy makes. Nowhere in the topic of building a mosque did the doctrine of Islam enter the debate. It was strictly about disrespect for the dead, how dare they pollute the sacred site, etc.

The sport of the white, upper middle class male, by and large. Says volumes.

Yet I learned the game as a 10 year old with a family income of $160/week and no public assistance and growing up in one of the worst areas in Houston. :)

I learned thanks in large part to generous contributions from rich white guys...Namely Doug Sanders and Duke Butler. They set up the HGA and provided "scholarships" for the poor and minorities. Even got tour pros to pay for our clubs.....mine were purchased by Hubert Green. (Doug Sanders is the older guy in the links first pic) The kids in the pic were childhood friends/opponents. Mayfair was rich but Hendley wasn't. Hendley might have been the greatest Junior golfer of all time (including Tiger) but the Cancer was a real set back. Marcus Jones, a car dealer in Houston, sponsored many of us as well.

Today I still contribute to the HGA and AJGA as well as host a fundraiser and volunteer at the local event. Just to continue the spirit of helping minorities learn to play golf. Tiger was one of the minorities that benefited from the AJGA program.... :)

Just thought I would add a little more to the volumes. :)

Oh really, that's nice, man.

Hey Jillio, are you gulped now? j/k

I am sorry, but you cannot legitimately make an argument against a "building" without actually deleting what messages would be preached inside of it.

Islam is vehemently opposed to homosexuality. Islam is the religion that will be "inside" of that "building". That "building" will be a meeting place for people who vehemently oppose homosexuality. That building has an imam. That imam is vehemently opposed to homosexuality. It is his public as well as his private views.

The supporters of the ground zero mosque are screaming "freedom of religion".

I do not oppose freedom of religion. I do not AGREE that the mosque should be built there, but will do NOTHING to hinder them from building or worshipping wherever they see fit.

I may or may not AGREE with the LDS views, but I will do nothing to hinder their free exercise of religion.

I have my own views - I wouldn't want someone feeling they have the right to stifle my views just because they disagree.

FYI - this petition does not stifle his freedom of speech nor hinder his freedom to exercise his religion.
