Ms. Giglz, how can I say to this? I agree with you wholeheartly! This town has at least 50 deafies from wee kids to elders and they can be so rude. They would make up crude stories about each others and fight. *sighs* Makes me sad and I no longer hang around with them... I only have one good friend and rest of them are back in New York. Sad, but I am managing.

Which St. Louis oral school? CID, St. Joseph, or Moog? These three schools I know in St. Louis. Maybe I know Cindy. Which one?

Minnesota is not that bad. Once you get past the humidity and the mosqueeetos, all is cool. We have some neat stuff here. Taylors Falls (near wisc), downtown Minneapolis, Walker Art Museum, the Basilica, Uptown, Lowertown, Dinkytown. Then there the Mall of American, Valley fair (summer only), Endless summer parades, boating on the mississippi river, etc etc

Granted tho - Minnesota Nice is extreme. For those who dont know what it means, it just means people from MN are super nice to visitors but once they're gone they lgkjad;lfkj;alhkh mean stuff. :) Just a generalization.

I wldnt have moved back from Colorado if i didnt think there was anything here for me :ily:

well everyone has a different outlook on life. I look at life as a more positive experience - even tho I've been thru shit. Im not saying you look at it negatively but you just dont see it positively. But I do understand why :) Either way, Minnesota is good for families, pick the right area with a good school, and that is that.

Jams.. well you have been missed out on news lately..

Schools are sucks now days.. they cut alot good programs.. and cut good teachers.. our old school are really lousy service.. they dont provided interpreters anymore.. they dont even care about the kids' lives.. my kids went thru hellish last year.. thats why i moved them to special private school.. Of course I have to pay for it.. but at least they have provided our needs.. just hope that will be best school for my kids.. whats more.. living cost are so high.. we had to move out by oct.. cuz landlord wanted to put this house for sale as they broke our lease.. *sigh*.. we have been look around apartments or townhouse to rent.. omg.. the cost are unbelivable now days.. plus we are living high cost taxes.. everything are so high.. I had to go back to work.. and look for job.. its so hard to find job.. since i havent work for 12 years.. dont they look at my "job record" blank for 12 years just being stay home mom.. I am not going to apply fast foods cuz they dont provided good medical/insurance.. So.. at this moment... its not good for low to medium income families to live in this state..
I hope the new goverment we have now.. fixing the problems.. since ventura messed it up.. :)

Fine, then I'm lucky somehow. But you cant say I dont know what its like to live with little or no money. Of all people, I would know (among many others but speaking of people i know.) Most of the people I've lived with are at fault (ie: my dad) for their financial problems. Im not saying it's your fault tho. My education was fine - I only graduated last year. I'd have had a better GPA if i had a stable home life. I'd never imagine you working in fast food, but there are other places in retail that offer health insurance and etc. I have health insurance through my work, and Im not in any serious trouble. My only concern is that now I have no money because I have to get glasses and pay my rent all in one and a half weeks. I bring home 260 a week - and my rent/bills (what i SHOULD pay) total is 400 a month. I bring home 800 a month - the rest my mother knows I have and I try to tell her no, but who can turn down their parents? Bill and I had this conversation this morning - i should have said no and i have the ability to. I said i didnt have a choice, because if i didnt give her the money she needed, my dad wld yell at her because he wanted her to mail his things to him at gally. Now, bad locig tells me the source of all my problems (and my mom's) is my dad. But back to the point - i know what its like to live in a low/medium income family - and now that I am on my own I know it more. As for being behind, it depends on the area you live in. You chose south st paul for financial reasons, but if you cld afford to live in, oh say, Edina - your kids get a better education. Sad but true.

Maybe I dont know what Im saying, maybe i do. *shrugs*

i understand how you feel Msgirlz..

Myself wanna move to the cities back again, but figured out myself.. Can i afford?

Believe it or not.. I own a house.. am paying mortgage.. and it's almost $500 a month cheaper than an average cost of an apt in twin cities.. I was so shocked.. and lost.. Have no clue how to afford living in cities and support my child, and go to school at same time.. I wanted to finish my education, get a major i wanted..

i agree with you msgirlz that Cities is Very Expensive to live.. it's more for median income range..
Yes, there's some place that is very cheap to live, but neighboors and surround good? NAH CRIME HIGH! I think this isn't fair for familes who want a good life and can't afford to live in good neighboorhood area.

away from cities like 50 miles away places are cheaper to live.. myself i live 100 mile away from twin cities. Apts here range $300-$500 for 2 bedroom.. CHEAP.. but do you get everything u want to do? Fun things? no.. i don't get alot of fun things to do around here.. always miss oppourity to have fun, because have to drive all way to have fun there and etc..

Interesting thread - Sorry if this is late but I gotta say that before I came to Minnesota to work at Camp Sertoma, Minnesota was on my "least-likely to visit" and after I drove to Minnesota, I realized I was wrong big time! The people I met (my age group) are awesome and the nature there is just so breathtaking! Trees and water everywhere!! There were two major reasons why I fell in love with Minnesota

1) The natural landscape
2) My boyfriend :cuddle:

After Camp Sertoma ended, I returned to Minnesota 5 more times within one month and half before returning out east for school. Just spent my winter break up in Minnesota and still loved every moment of it there:) Won't be surprised at myself if I end up living in Minnesota after my college days end!

For those who haven't visited Minnesota, don't dare say anything until you see it for yourself! :slap: That was a lesson I learned and I'm glad I was wrong about Minnesota!

Its nice to see someone have a positive outlook on how Minnesota is. But MN "veterans" (people who have lived here all their lives and whatnot) will say "you like it cause you dont know it well enough." Im sorry but thats a bunch of bull. I really like Minnesota, and it's really too bad people put it down and degrade it, making it seem less than it really is. The people I know of, who will speak badly of MN (IMO) can take themselves a little further and build themselves the better life. But thats just me. Im not bound by limitations other Deaf people feel they are, thus making me an outcast in the Deaf community. If searching for the better life is a crime in the community, then by all means, shun me. :)

and shame on you for not emailing me so we cld meet up, over winter break! :P
