Hello all,
I am writing a short film. Two of the characters are a mother and her 5-8 year old son who is deaf. It is important for the mother to be talking to her son over a relay service but it occurs to me that a 5 year old might have trouble with that. I figured I would come here and get the low down on real life experiences and at what age you find this practical if at all. Is it just my bias not being deaf that makes me think a 5 year old or even an 8 year old wouldn't be very capable of using a teletype machine? Does anyone have experiences that prove otherwise?
Thanks in advance.
