Our female cat is pregnant and looks like a gian bowling ball wth 4 legs and a tale. I wasn't sure when she was due, but its obviously getting close. A few minutes ago she got up on my lap and is having contractions. This will be my first delivery (I was on vacation when she had her last litter and came home to find the new additions).

Anyone have any experience as for how long it takes once the contractions start. I pretty much know to leave her alone and let her do her thing ;) I'll update things as they happen :)
 
Congratulations, Dad—but I have a stupid question. Why are you breeding cats in the first place? Is she purebred and you’re selling the kittens?
 
This will be our last time. We aren't breeders but we made the mistake of waiting too long to have the father fixed. The kittens will all get good homes.
 
Might I make a suggestion? I think it would be in your best interest to have Mom’s toys removed from the box, too. ;) Not that I mean to lecture you on the attendant obligations of responsible pet ownership, but we all know that there are far too many little doggies and kitties in the world who don’t have enough to eat. :nono:
 
She has a nice nesting area and the other pets are seperated.

She just had her first. A little black and white that looks just like the father.
 
I think my cat's getting pregrent again...I dunno she always look fatter and fatter every mintue I seen her before and after my job lol

heck, we even got her tubes tied, but perhas it got loose lol
 
Had a total of 4 after it was over. I am concerned about #4. Mama didn't want a lot to do with it. It popped out and she pushed it aside. He is now breathing and nursing but at one point, he was seperated from the crowd with mama laying in the middle. I know mother cats do this for a reason and I sure hope the little booger is OK and pulls through. The rest of them are all doing very, very well. I'd post some pictures but they all look a little creepy (remember the gremlins movie ;) ). I'll take some more photos in a few days.

No,

Sussi, my 18 years old cat getting fatter and fatter after tubes tied then it will be normal again within few years time.

Most cats get fatter after tubes tied.


Kim, my 7 months old cat will have tubes tied after New Year. All what I make sure that Kim doesn't go out until she have tubes tied then............... because I don't want her to get pregnant! ;)
