What do you guys think about the hardware, and any possible speculations on pricing, and final software?

I think the Wii is great and that it might end up retail for $150. All rumors point to Early November release.

What do you think?

Back in day, Gamecube was $199.99 at Launch Day and Nintendo 64 was $199.99 at Launch Day too. I believe that it would cost around $199.99 or little more than that because addition more new technology like WiFi built-in, more cheaper than Xbox 360 (Premium, including WiFi add-on and HD-DVD add-on if release soon) and PS3 (Complete Pack).

I believe $249.99 dollars with two virual games ( old school games) or $199.99 dollars without a game.

I am pretty sure it was $249.99 dollars on N64

PS3's inside is much alike as PS2. Just add blu-ray, that's it.

All i know that Wii is bit advance than Gamecube, and the graphic engine become no longer point because it's already beyond. It's only up on 3D designer who can make graphic look drooling. For an example as Resident Evil 4, that Capcom team did a fancy job with highly poly which Ps2 have half poly support.

It will cost between $200 to $250. we may hear from the confirm within two months before launch. I am except Nintendo to launch great games during same time Wii launch.

What you think so? I have said no...

PS3 has blu-ray built-in, WiFi built-in, HDMI, 60GB HD built-in and controller with motion sensor, it's cost $599.99 on Launch Day in November 17. Again, PS3 isn't same as PS2, it totally different that would more heavier and big than Xbox 360, Look at picture and find out yourself.

Do not agure with him. I agree with you. PS2 is a console. PS3 is no longer a console. it is a PC. Not to mention that ps3 has a better grahpic card( almost id to Geforce 7800 but faster), increase size and speed twice for memory sticks which is more powerful and fastest than ps2.

I'm gonna have to think that "increased specs" would be more about having the system multitask - maybe in the future you can play a game, record a TV show to the HD, and download a game demo all at the same time. The core 3.2GHz and 512MB of memory would always be dedicated to playing a game (and running whatever software goes on in the background).

Increasing specs later in a lifecycle for a boost in game performance wouldn't work, because every developer would still be making games for the configuration that the system launched with. If they've got one area to maneuver it is with the hard drive, they've already got two different sizes, and as long as they are leaving enough for caching and game saves (6 GB would cover that easy) than they can release smaller or larger versions depending on whether sombebody just wants to store their game content or if they want to download movies/demos/etc.

Sony hasn't even let developers use the full 333MHz of PSP yet, so going with multiple specs on PS3 (other than the HD and video out) would be a pretty strange turn on their part.

if the ps3 is really a glorified computer, I would rather spend my money on a real computer, one that can accomplish more task then the ps3 can hope to do.

Yep thats what I heard...more of a PC than a console so...really, why need a PS3 when you already have a computer? It's only the future of techology built in the PS3 including the blu-ray drive when the stores havent even sell plenty of blu-ray discs just yet! The begining of an new disc era has just begun and we dont even know which would be better. HD-DVD or Blu-ray. $600 is obivously ridiculous. Why, I even got a new Playstation magazine in the mail today and you know what they say on the hardware stuff?...well here it says:

on $499 and $599 console versions, it includes:
memory of 256MB XDR (both)
Video of 256MB GDDR3 (both)
wireless (both)
blue tooth controller (both)
USB 2.0 four ports both
AV multi-out (both)
HDMI support (only $599)

480i (both)
480p (both)
720p (both)
1080i (both)
1080p(both)

optical audio (both)
dolby 5.1 (both)
DTS (both)

HDD-20GB ($499) 60GB ($599)

Blu-ray drive (both)

DVD (both)

CD (both)

SACD (both)

memory stick ($599 only)

secure digital ($599 only)

compact flash ($599 only)

ethernet (both)

bluetooth 2.0 (both)

Wi-Fi ($599)

both do not include the PS2 hardware so that means it wont play ALL PS2 games for the PS3 so instead you have to use an emulator for that...as well as cant even use the PS2 controller for the PS3 either.

...I'm starting to be less excited about the PS3. :|

besides, I dont really give a fuck about blu-ray and the cell processor, etc...

I just want a Playstation console that would just do afew things like play DVDs and play PS2 and PS3 games and thats it! but I guess I'm not very impressed with what Sony is doing in this next generation of gaming.

Stop right there. YOu knew you are dying to play Devil may cry 4, GT4 online, and METAL GEAR SOLID 4. Sony stated that ps3 will have a back capatible for ps1( not sure) and ps2. Remember blu-ray has 50gb so that will help making a better grahpic and gameplay. who knows the better cutscence. :dunno:

good luck with the viruses. :hyper: PS3 will use linux OS. And the one i highlighted there. Do not underesmate ps3.there will be a LOT of features that PC can't. Ask steel.

It's seems like 3DO but SNES don't have backward compatibility, it does with Sega Genesis or not sure.

Yea, I got Playstation magazine too but it's Sony decided to create PS3 with features that what they want. PS3 would support backward compatibility with PS2 but limited with emulator, make graphic looks better, and 8MB memory card wouldn't compatible with PS3 but just need transfer with between USB and game saves in memory flash, just alike PSP does.

Some people aren't exciting and some are so, I'm exciting about get new PS3 in summer 2007 instead of Nov 2006 but I just rather to play PS3 over my computer because my computer is full of shit (Windows XP, HP), also I'm getting new MacBook soon instead of getting Alienware.

Yea, I agree...

I have a feeling Nintendo will try and draw attention to the Wii with a weird number -- say, $184.95. This is a nice psychological attack on gamers' ADD-like attention span. 185 is "in between" 150 and 200 but it's "more profitable" than 175.

Smell where I'm going with this?

Last but not the least, WiFi sucks.

Yes Metal Gear Solid 4 would be the only reason I bought a PS3 but I dont need one with blu-ray drive and cell processor and all the shit inside the system, etc...just a system with DVD-rom, PS2 and PS3 hardware would just do me fine...perhas they might make a much cheaper version in the future...

anyone remember the PSX? (no not the orginal playstation) it was even more expensive than the PS2 and it failed. so the PS2 was more popular anyway. maybe the PS3 might fail due to price and unwanted techology like the PSX...but hey, only God knows.
